I have a problem with 96-24 FLAC audio files, too. My A-300 plays them totally distorted. The only solution is to re-encode the files in 48-16 FLAC.

I've also got some hi res audio flacs that can't be played. I just recompress them with foobar (flac-to-flac) while preserving the 96-24 (basically a lossless process) and then my a300 can handle them. I'm not an expert but I think this may have solmething to do with the particular versions of the flac encoder that the flac files are created with.
