Which script runs auto update process for nmj?
Every time nmj starts, it should run database verification to check if there is any movie added. A few months ago this process started to use CPU at insane levels ( 90-98% CPU) causing my A-300 hang. So I found in google way to disable this process by changing the path in one system file. The problem is, I don't remember what was this file, and the name of process. I can't revert this changes. I did firmware recovery procedure but it didn't help. I want to go back to auto update hoping the last firmware fixed the high CPU usage problem/bug
So my question is: What starts auto update process and which files are responsible for this. Any other advice how to COMPLETELY restore A-300 to factory state or fix auto update feature will be also appreciated. |

RE: Which script runs auto update process for nmj?
Are you wanting to turn the auto updating ON/OFF? There's a setting in the UI to do this and stop it auto updating each and everytime you enter NMJ.
If you select Maintenance > Reset to Factory Settings and then reboot it will reset the device. I don't think that this is related to cpu usage by the way. Seeing cpu usage at 98% is common for the chips. That's why they were thinking of removing it, as it doesn't really give much useful information. A400: SSD+SD Card(Apps), HDMI A300: USB(Apps), HDMI C200: USB(Apps), BD SH-B083L(SB01), HDMI CAT6 Wired Network: TV TX-P42G20, HP ProCurve 1400-8G, Netgear GS-608/605, Synology CS407 |

RE: Which script runs auto update process for nmj?
Thanks for reply.
I want to turn auto updating ON. I spend a xx hours trying. I cant find this setting in UI - please tell me exactly where it is. I did "Maintenance > Reset to Factory Settings" a few times - no luck. I did firmware recovery ( procedure with jumper) from here support.popcornhour.com/article.aspx?id=1135 - no luck! High CPU usage are normal - I agree. But waiting 10 min for response from unit - it's not normal. Disabling one process by editing one system file/startup script ( Unfortunately I do not remember what file I edited in the past) made my Popcorn functional again by the cost of auto update. I was thinking that recovery procedure will restore system to previous state and auto update will go back. So - in summary: 1. Where exactly in UI is setting turning auto update ON/OFF? 2. What starts auto update process and which files are responsible for this? 3. Is recovery procedure with jumper COMPLETELY restoring A-300 to factory state? If not, what does so? |
