although many of us have hd tvs on these forums, many of us still watch sd movies. So I would say you still have a use for it.

PCH works just fine on my SDTV using NTSC.

the PCH will play many types of videofiles, including hd video files on your SDTV in good quality. Try playing a good 720p x264 buray rip on your SDTV using the PCH and you will be astonished how good it looks

dunno if you have a use for a player like the pch which can play many different video types - only you can tell - but having only an SDTV for now doesnt really mean one should not get a PCH.

Agreed, a HD movie on an SDTV still looks better than an SD movie, especially on a CRT.

Thnx for the replies.

I mainly want to use the PCH to play different videofiles with Tvseries .
Stream DVD's from my NAS maybe .

And when i finally step up to a HDTV i can use the PCH to its full capacity.

thnx again for the replies

That's very close to my main usage scenario. Smile I'm still using an old but reliable Sony 24" CRT SDTV. Will probably not replace that one until it dies or I can get my hands on a larger, multi-sync CRT-successor (Laser maybe).
I have never seen a clearer picture on this TV ever since the Popcorn has been attached to it via S-Video.
Popcorn is well worth buying even for SDTV while being future proof for HDTV.
