PCH 200 and HiFi Amplifier
Hi to all,
first excuse me, my english is terrible!! I have a question. My PCH 200 is updated to the last fw and I'm evaluating the correct cabling to connect the PHC to my amplifier Nad 352 . I tried using a couple of RCA cable connecting directly the pch to the AUX Nad port but to hear I need to grow up the Nad audio level to the maximum. It's normal? It's a fw problem? Thanks for the support!! Domenico |

RE: PCH 200 and HiFi Amplifier
No, that isn't normal. The analogue audio output from the C-200 is rather low, but not that low.
Reduce the volume on your amplifier to a normal listening level, start playing a file and then with the PCH remote control set the volume to -1 and then 0 (even if it is already at 0) using the Volume Down/Up buttons. If it gets louder then stop the file and reboot the PCH and it should reset the volume pointers internally. There has been an issue where the volume displayed does not match the volume set in the DSP chip, and altering the volume with the remote gets them back in sync again. Then the reboot ensures that the setting is correctly stored in non-volatile memory. Ensure that you have turned down your amplifier before doing this as it could suddenly get very loud. Also, set all of your audio settings on the PCH to Downmix. It's possible that you are playing multiple channel audio and only hearing 2 channels out of maybe 5 therefore losing the main center channel. Setting all audio types to Downmix will ensure that all channels are combined into stereo.

Hi... tnx for your answer... on my pch all audio types are already configured to Downmix...and I'm sure that RCA cable and HiFi input port are all ok...tested using another tv decoder as source... |

In my experience, check it the response of plm.
I remember once I went crazy looking for an explanation of the absence of sound .. until I checked the volume level from the remote...
