internet LOST
Hi, I have a popcorn hour c-300. and my problem is that my internet connection to my c-300 has COMPLETELY stopped. When I do a setup wizard says that it does not get anyone switching from the "internet" to my home network, it depends on my popcorn player that suddenly stopped working or is it my network at home that failed to popcorn player. Internet works great for all my other technical stuff so have at home I might add. ! PLEASE HELP ME.

RE: internet LOST
Can you please rephrase the sentence "When I do a setup wizard says that it does not get anyone switching from the "internet" to my home network", because I don't understand what you are trying to say.
Also explain how you have connected the C300 to your network. Is it Wifi? Cable? What are your network settings on the C300? What have you done to try and fix it? |

I have it connected by a cable. and my settings on the network in the popcorn player is on auto everything for me, nothing about networking. and what I did to fix that problem is to reboot my router, reset my router, updated the firmware with the newest wire that came in June / July, and as I said, I HAVE made a setup wizard several times. let me know if yes can help you with several questions to help me find the problem! |

RE: internet LOST
Unfotunately I have an A200, not a '300, so I'm not familiar with the new user interface.
In the network settings on the C300, I guess from your reply that you have it set to get an IP-address from DHCP. Can you see that it really has an IP-address? What is it? If you go into your routers web admin interface, you should there be able to see what units you have on your network (PC's, game consoles, and the C300). Can you see the C300 there? If you can't see it there then DHCP is probably failing to give your C300 an IP-address. |

RE: internet LOST
I had the same problem, and it usually occured when using the torrent client on my A300. It always came back after rebooting, though.
So, are you running anything performance intensive on the box? |

RE: internet LOST
This is not a bug or everyone would have the problem.
Use a static manual ip and you'll find it far more stable than DHCP:- http://www.networkedmediatank.com/wiki/i..._Static_IP A400: SSD+SD Card(Apps), HDMI A300: USB(Apps), HDMI C200: USB(Apps), BD SH-B083L(SB01), HDMI CAT6 Wired Network: TV TX-P42G20, HP ProCurve 1400-8G, Netgear GS-608/605, Synology CS407 |

RE: internet LOST
I have the exact same problem.
It is only a DNS or default gateway problem i think. I have tried dhcp and static IP and dns. But every time is turn on the popcorn hour in have problem with no internet connection. This is after i turn of the power completely. Not just standby. I have lived with it for some months now, but it is becoming annoying now. I think we need a firmware fix here Hmm try the solution from another post " I've personally experienced a dns quirk with my old ass router which was just fixed in the 200 series but appears to not have made it into the 300s yet: Check the network settings: if there is only 1 dns server listed: edit just the dns servers and manually put in the same server for 1 and 2 (same ip address). you may need to reboot after saving this setting change. (hold power for 5+ seconds, it'll flash the power and turn off, then turn it back on). if the dns servers are 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220, you may have a router that doesn't like passing mdns (I have one also). you can edit the dns servers, put in your house dns server (probably your router ip) for both. OR try another non-mdns provider like googles dns which is 8.8.8.8 and 4.4.4.4. Again a reboot might be needed to fully kick in. " :-D |

RE: internet LOST
there is a typeo on that.. 8.8.8.8 and 4.4.4.4 are not the google dns servers, it should be 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

RE: internet LOST
If you follow the WIKI guide linked above it shows you how to find your ISP DNS addresses and how to enter them on your player. You can like accident suggests also use google or other DNS servers you do not have to use your ISP ones. However some routers do not like openDNS DNS server addresses, the ones starting 208, which the player defaults to after a factory reset.

RE: internet LOST
Hi guys,
Glad to find a recent post on this of other users with the same issue. I noticed I had the same issue yesterday on my A-210 which has been fine for year now. I have been using a static IP with a gateway to my internal DNS server. Using a hard wired connections and tried different network cable and LAN port I tried google DNS, primary and backup and also the default DNS settings I upgraded to the latest firmware released yesterday and even reset configuration and NMT apps with still no luck. Havent started any NMT apps since the upgrade so nothing should conflict Tried DHCP also I can browse internal network resoures on my LAN fine (Mapped to share with credentials and successfully plays a movie off the share) Tried internet radio, browsing websites, APP market and updating NMJ and all have issues connecting to the internet. All other PC's, laptops, game consoles work fine No recent changes on my firewall but will check the logs tonight while going on the net via popcorn hour and see if anything shows there |

RE: internet LOST
Just to confirm, did you have both dns servers populated at the same time even if it was the same ip for both and you rebooted in between saving changes?

Thanks for the quick reply. Both DNS fields were populated with different IPs. Many reboots and still having the issue Originally I had one DNS field populated |

RE: internet LOST
try:
- double check the subnet in network settings, make sure it matches the lan subnet in your router - your house dns server (usually the ip of your router) for both servers. - 8.8.8.8 for dns1 and 8.8.4.4 for dns2 - go into your router and find out what your providers dns servers are. it should be in the screen where it shows you the internet providers ip address. (if you give the make/model I can help find the page on the internet your looking for). try those 2 servers. (it could be that your provider is blocking other dns servers suddenly). Only other things that come to mind after that are reboot the router just in case or try reflashing the firmware. |

RE: internet LOST
Hi guys found my issue to be firewall related and one i least expected. using a Cisco device which limits to max 10 internal hosts talking to the net at one time....happened when i bought my new tablet the other day! the tablet tipped it over the limit.
Thanks for trying to help out guys |
