Updating a really old yamj (was START HERE)

I've read more then one website for YAMJ installation and I'm still confused. I have an A110 on a Win7 computer 64 bit. I tried to upgrade YAMJ and everything has gone to hell. I want to do a clean install and then once it works install a new skin. Will Eversion work on the A110? I see there's a site that has an all-in-one install package but will that work on my A110 and Win7 64 bit machine?
And since it's been years since I set up my YAMJ I don't know which way to set it up. I store the jukebox on my internal HD on my A110 however I also have 10 drives daisy chained to the PCH via USB. So I get confused on the set-up screen for YAMJ.
Since I have video files on the NMT hard disk and USB drives attached: which "my video files are stored in" do I use to set it up and what location do I put in the "location of your movie directory to scan"?!
I know how to point to the internal HD on my PCH to store the Jukebox.
When I tried this yesterday it didn't create a yamj.cmd. Very frustrated with myself...

Eversion does not work on A1x0 machines.

Why not use the configuration you already have?

it's a lot easier to update than it is to reinstall, do you have your original install still? open a new thread for help updating an old yamj and we'll lend you a hand.

OK - i went back to my 'old' one (yamj 0.43 version) and the default skin and it 'worked' so now I have on my Moviejukebox are categories All, HD, Movies, TV Shows and Top 250. I'll post in a new thread how I can use a new skin. When I say "it worked" it did but some covers say "HD" while others say "1080". I would just like an HD skin that has the category "NEW" to quickly bring up the last ones I added (on a different note - every rip I do using ToNMT has the date/year at 2000 so it's not helping).

That's a pretty old yamj so lets figure out the best upgrade path here.. I'm surprised it was still working for you.

Before I make a recommendattion for how to update. Is there a properties folder in your yamj install? What is the filename you have put in your personalized settings (usually called moviejukebox.properties but there are some others)

0.43 is the GUI install. I would imagine that's 2.3/2.4 probably.

First thing to do is to make sure you copy that working YAMJ folder before messing with it.

I JUST noticed this split thread! I used my old YAMJ settings (moved the .cmd file and my properties file to the AIO unzipped package) and after realizing I needed to delete/create a new jukebox I ran the program and it ran fine. So I didn't upgrade to the latest YAMJ (still using the one from 2009) and it worked! I don't know what I'm missing out by not using the newer version of YAMJ but so far it works. I appreciate your suggestions and please let me know if there is something I'm missing by not using the newer YAMJ version.

Unfortunately I think I'm going to have to try updating the YAMJ since I have been unsuccessful in have a category for "NEW" adds show up. I want the category to show up to quickly pull up the latest movies I've added.
