Seriously? You are going to not update because of posts like that! Why are you so easily led by posts that do not explain anything. My advice to everyone, unless your reading this forum like a hawk and really understand every single post made you can't tell if someone is bitching that a feature that never worked still doesn't work or if something new really is a problem..
Yes, there are some issue but oh so much has improved. We've also found some ways to reset the players and deal with most of the problems without a new update making them faster and stable. Remember, you can always downgrade if your unhappy, you can skip upgrading if your already happen. If your waiting for every post to be everything is flawless, it's never going to happen. |

For whatever reason, every single one of my movies plays to softly. To get around this on my C200 (where I did install the RC firmware) I must turn up the volume on the TV. When I forget to return the volume after using the C200, the first regular TV viewer gets blasted by the TV. I'll leave my A200 and A210 as is forever rather than loose volume boost. I'm sure someone will tell me that the problem is that my media files are all defective. Even if that were true, I'd rather purchase a different media player than recode 12 terabytes of media files. |

It's a know bug that was fixed in this firmware and you could have fixed it a long time ago. If you update and it's still an issue, #3 in this thread will adjust it: http://www.networkedmediatank.com/showth...?tid=62337 |

Hello, I have problems playing vob files over svideo with a sdtv, I stays black / hangs, it doesn't play the dvd files, other formats are working fine. I have done a reset of the settings.
When I reload the older firmware it worked again, is there a solution for this? THX |

@accident, @werner if you're reading...
Do you happen to know if there is any acknowledgement from Syabas of networking issues after this firmware update? I've now discovered that I cannot access the Apps server unless IP is set manually. That's even though NMJ and other activities that need an internet connection work fine in Auto IP mode, as long as DNS servers are set manually. However I am happy to report I have found a configuration that works and the firmware recovery helped, albeit partially; if I set IP to manual and assign my own DNS servers, forgoing DHCP entirely, even after a reboot everything remains operational. If I want to stick with this firmware I’ll need to live with this, at least for the time being I guess. My final consensus is DHCP is screwed in part or in full after this update, maybe not for all but at least for some hardware editions of the A200. |

DHCP is fine, it's a problem with the assigning of dns servers from dhcp. your the only one I know of that needs to go as far as static ip, but it's hard to tell in this area because most users don't use DHCP.
This thread, nothing will get done about it when your 1 person posting about an issue unique to yourself. Your past the getting this firmware installed point so you really need to get a bug thread opened and overload in info like what does your dhcp, your multiple dns servers, which one is 1 and 2.. Your setup is much more than the average pch owner. |

Even if that were true, I'd rather purchase a different media player than recode 12 terabytes of media files. This doesn't seem to match my experience. The volume on every media file on all firmware levels has been low. The volume level associated with the numbers does not vary just by moving to -1 and moving back. If some users RMA good hardware because they set their volume boost too high, then set the default to -15 to 0, but give me a setup option to return boost values to their old range. Even assuming that the bug you describe is the cause of my problem, there can be valid reasons to allow some devices to have a higher volume setting than others. Imagine that I'm both hard of hearing and the primary (or only) user of the PCH. Then when the kids watch cable the volume is set appropriately for their hearing, but when my wife and myself watch a movie on the PCH the volume matches our's. Telling people that they should have done this or that is a good way to generate resentment. Sometimes you will even be wrong. |
