Configuration Advice Required
ok here I go

I basically want to watch DVD ISO's off another PC, but it is just so slow.

I have a rather unusual setup so bare with me:

I have 2 PC's, a router, an A-300 with internal drive and a Denon 3808 receiver.

My everyday PC that I use is connected via lan cable to my router.

The second PC is on the other side of the house and is connected via the wireless card in the back of it.

I also have a lan cable in it which goes to my receiver.

Basically on the second PC I have a bridged connection which allows me to do this.

The receiver can then play audio from the net, update firmware etc.

I then have my A-300 which I have a WN-150 wireless device in it.

Everything has been working fine as up until now as I have been using the internal drive on the A-300 to store movies and concert DVD's.

Last night I tried to play a concert DVD ISO from the second PC....so slow it just stutters. I realize it is probably due to wireless as the files are 7gb for example.

When I had my popcorn hour A-100 this was never an issue as I think I had a small switch between the second PC and the receiver and popcorn hour.

So basically lan cable from second PC to switch. Switch then has another 2 LAN cables, one going to Popcorn, one going to Receiver. Should this configuration even work?

If anyone has made sense of this can you please advice on what to try?

Cheers

RE: Configuration Advice Required
There's a good chance you may never get it to work again. I'm not sure if you have an access point in this picture but you should be able to see what speed the pch is connected to the wireless. not sure if possible from the pch, but the other side of the wireless should have a list of clients and connection speeds. My thought is the connection is poor and it's not fast enough for what you want to do.

RE: Configuration Advice Required
Yeh dont use USB wirelss dongles. A syabas engineer told me back in the 100 series days that by using USB rather than ethernet it halves the speed. So use an ethernet connection and an access point to be able to do that.
It still has zero guarantees though as it depends on the environment. I used the WN150 and never managed to stream a DVD in DVD format. I could get low quality 720p TV caps to stream and Sd xvid but the likes of DVD ISO/video_ts and BDMV etc. do not stream at all well.

A400: SSD+SD Card(Apps), HDMI A300: USB(Apps), HDMI C200: USB(Apps), BD SH-B083L(SB01), HDMI
CAT6 Wired Network: TV TX-P42G20, HP ProCurve 1400-8G, Netgear GS-608/605, Synology CS407

RE: Configuration Advice Required
Cheers guys

So you are saying do not use the WN-150?

hmmm I might have to re-think my setup..

Should it work if I have it setup like I explained before ie PC has bridged connection, LAN port on PC goes into a switch, then from there, one goes to Popcorn, and one goes to receiver?

I tried it but it doesn't seem to work, although I must have had it working when I had the A-100??
