[YAMJ] Another path change??

OK, can someone tell me why my PCH keeps changing paths everytime i upgrade the firmware?

It is really annoying as i have to edit my_library file and re-run yamj to make it work.

This time around i got an extremely long path

file:///opt/sybhttpd/localhost.drives/NETWORK_SHARE/smb://[=]SERVER/YAMJshare/

This is according to yamj app pathing helper

Why did it all of a sudden need the /smb://[=] line?

Your the only one I know with update problems like this with network shares.. you should follow the update instructions and look at factory resetting (WRITE DOWN ALL YOUR SETTINGS AN SHARES, YOU WILL NEED THEM)

did the yamj app actually show file:///opt/sybhttpd/localhost.drives/NETWORK_SHARE/smb://[=]SERVER/YAMJshare/ in it's entirety or did it show part of that and this is what you made the path?

YAMJ app show that exact path, but ONLY for some shares, it is really strange. And i actually do follow the update instructions,but as you can see,stuff changes everytime for me.

On my server pc i have the jukebox in the YAMJshare folder, and this now gets this path (after a reset)

file:///opt/sybhttpd/localhost.drives/NETWORK_SHARE/YAMJshare/

On the SAME pc,i have two other drives shared and these have the path

file:///opt/sybhttpd/localhost.drives/NETWORK_SHARE/smb://[=]SERVER/MUSIK/

and

file:///opt/sybhttpd/localhost.drives/NETWORK_SHARE/smb://[=]SERVER/TEMP TV/

Now how in the world does they have different paths on the same pc? Like i said, i am stunned about these pathing errors,and they annoy me very much

It wouldn't the first time a firmware update broke shares so it could be something new that the yamj app can't process right. yamj app and eversion process the shares the same so it could actually be causing a bug in both.

Does the app still show those wrong paths where it's combining 2?

If yes, can you please gather some information:
- telnet in your pch (download putty from internet, select telnet and put in the ip of your pch)
- at the # prompt: cp /tmp/setting.txt /share
- copy setting.txt from the drive, it'll be in the root and send it to accident at dentedboxes.com
- delete the setting.txt

Yes, yamj is still showing weird path (file:///opt/sybhttpd/localhost.drives/NETWORK_SHARE/smb://[=]SERVER/*) for all shares except my jukebox. Funny thing is though that it works fine.

I will try and do the telnet thingy tomorrow. Which drive will it put the setting.txt on? As i have no internal drive on the pch anymore,but use a usb for nmt apps

thanks, there will be a yamj app update shortly for the changes in the firmware. It's only for using the app for a jukebox and what is displayed on the screen with the playerpath help.

It appears eversion itself does not need an update. if you happen to use the mount options and they aren't working, let me know

So the actual path havent changed? Only the app shows wrong path,or?

How they are saved in the settings slightly changed so the yamj app couldn't process the settings file correctly for this firmware. The only way network paths change is if you type them in differently.

If your using shares in a jukebox setup, only add new shares with the blue button from network browsing. When your putting old shares back in after a reset, plug in a usb keyboard and type them EXACTLY the same. Or use the remote to do it but the remote takes forever.

You might want to consider using the eversion only paths. They work without shares being added to the player or the shares being added differently. It makes life so much faster for things like resetting or houses with many players. all you need to do is setup the player to display right and whatever is needed to get to the Jukebox folder and your done.

Disclaimer: I haven't tried them out in the new a200 update to make sure they fully work. If they don't work it's a couple eversion settings to change the behavior if you try it and have problems.

I tried eversion once, but found it so complicated i deleted it right away,so i stick with what i know,and it is working now. I think you might have answered all current and upcoming problems with my pathing,so i can always go back and read the old threads if need be :-)
