C-200 Black screens audio keeps playing
Hello,

I've got a C-200 connected to a Denon 1910 and then to my bravia 46NX700.

With some movies i've got black screens popping up. The screen will stay black for about a second but the audio keeps playing.
this is not with every movie and it doesn't matter if the movie is on the internal hard drive or streamed.

I've found a couple of people who encountered the same problem but couldn't find a resolution yet. Does anyone know how to resolve this issue?

first you need to post a media info output of said file. but the behavior sounds like a 10bit file

Do you mean short "dropouts" of the picture?
Try a different HDMI cable between the AVR and the TV.
It looks like the TV is losing the clocksignal now and then.
Sometimes reversing the cable is enough. (swapping the 2 connectors)

Sorry for the late response,

I tried new hdmi cables between the NMT and Denon and between the Denon and TV. no difference still getting the "screen drops". I also tried diffent HDMI ports on both the TV and the Denon.

The NMT is the only device which is causing the drops in video.

RE: C-200 Black screens audio keeps playing
I wonder if it is an HDMI problem. It looks more like an old firmware problem back from 2009.

To troubleshoot this, first try 1080i/50 video output setting. If the issue is gone, it is an HDMI problem.

What C200 firmware are you on?

If it proofs to be an HDMI problem it could be a hardware defect. Before sending your unit for repair, always first try a recovery.

A very small possibility is a groundloop. Are you sure that you have another 1080p60 source like PS3 attached to your AVR?
Settop boxes (cable/satellite) are 1080i and put less stress on the HDMI cable.

To prevent earthloops:
Power your equipment from 1 (grounded) source.
Try unhooking your cable connection for a while to see if it has influence. If it helps, use a "groundbreaker" or isolator in your cableconnection.

I have the same issue since i last updated the firmware, tried running only connected to my LG display and I get the same thing, I will try a recovery and let you know if this sorts out the issue,

thanks
