Performance level
I was just updating my music database, not rescanning, and decided to watch a movie. Movie is on attached external USB drive and standard definition. It started ok but eventually video started stuttering and eventually froze. It went to main menu but navigation is waaay too slow. Is it too much for A300 to handle? Apparently.

A300 connected to a receiver via component and optical as well as to a router via network cable.
if that makes much difference.

RE: Performance level
Are you asking if the display type, file type, or type of USB HDD can affect playback, then HELL YES!

I would remux the AVI first, then rencode if that made no difference. It cold be as simple as a corrupted index:-

RE: Performance level
This file or ANY OTHER video file (standard definition or HD) works perfectly fine if played alone from under file browser or YAMJ. The problem arises if I am updating NMJ in the background. In this instance A300 is slowing to a crawl. All I am wondering if running two tasks like that is too much for Popcorn. Yes, I know, I can run one thing at a time, but that is not my point.

RE: Performance level
Other's have posted in the past that is seems to take excessive resources to scan. From your thread I'm wondering if there's some bug in the music scanner side of it. Most use it for just video

RE: Performance level
Yes, I think this is an issue from NMJ side.

RE: Performance level
There are tools to edit the database, you may not know they can also replace the scanner and quickly import your media via a more powerful machine. Not sure if they cover music but they seem popular.
