Installed new A200 firmware and now can't find oversight

The title pretty much says it all. I used to just press source a few times and then oversight would show up and I'd be away. The new menu system doesn't allow this. I can find an oversight directory where it lists various folders and, if I click one of the html files, I can see the oversight main page. I'm pretty sure this isn't the best way of doing things though.

Do I need to reinstall anything?

It sounds as though you might have had a custom index.htm file which ran Oversight, and which has been removed or invalidated by the new FW. I normally start Oversight from the Web Services, but this did disappear after installing the new FW. A couple of reboots later it reappeared, so either my A200 is getting cranky, or it justs needs the reboots.

I've tried a few reboots and haven't seen anything come up yet. I don't think I have any special index.htm file. It used to appear at the bottom of a list of available apps (I think) - anyway I would just press source a few times and it would come up. I can't honestly see why it might suddenly appear after rebooting n times but I'll continue to try the reboots though.

Did you update nmt when you updated the firmware?
Do you see ftp server started in the settings->nmt app screen?
Do you use a nmt installed on usb thumbdrive and did you reconnect the media drive to it?
Did you try installing something small from csi like busybox to reconnect the csi start script after update?
Did you factory reset and not put back in the webservice for it?

I'm not an oversight or nmt user but I believe that is everything that goes along with updating and nmt/csi apps. Someone else can confirm or comment on what to do becuase that's about all the help I can offer.

Eh? I thought I was updating the device. I just tried running the NMT setup wizard and that seemed to complete ok. Still can't see oversight though.

It is now but a moment ago the PCH didn't seem to realise the usb wifi was plugged in. I pulled it out then put it back in and now the wifi options are showing. I then had to tell it again what wifi was mine and then I could restart the ftp server. I'm only mentioning this as it might help with what's wrong.

Eh? there isn't a usb stick attached to the drive so I assume I installed the nmt on the disk.

Not sure what CSI is (or busybox). I didn't do anything like this but should I?

I did a factory reset because I was advised to. I'm not sure what webservice I need or where I would find it.

Thanks for helping accident. I must admit I'm ok with computers (Comp Sci degree, design databases for banks, can program in many languages, even wrote my own chess program) but this update has me feeling quite confused. It would be so much nicer if the update just required pressing a button and nothing else.

It would be best for an actual oversight user to help you get it back after your factory reset. should be a couple simple steps that others have done many times. Just helping speed up the process to see what you did that caused it to not be there anymore.

Just re-install the latest oversight using CSI and it'll check that all the startup scripts are in place. It won't re-scan or delete your index.db as long as you simply install.

yes, you'll need to reinstall oversight after upgrading firmware

you do this with NMT installer (Google it if you need to), it should keep existing oversight settings.

Yes, it's was all working fine after reinstalling via the installer. Actually it looks better than before as I spent some time doing a betting setup. Cheers. I'll probably need to reinstall after reloading the latest firmware but heyho.

It's usually only after installing NMT apps that there is an issue. Just FW is usually ok
