Just curious, I update my A210 somewhere 4pm yesterday and today almost 8am the update process still showing as "in progress".
How long does typically the update going on? Can I cancel and retry? how?

a couple minutes + transfer time.
If it's been going overnight, it's probably screwed up. I'd probably start preparing the recovery firmware since it's probably going to be in recovery mode when you power cycle it. With some luck you'll be able to recover it.. worst case is you might have a major problem with your nand and it needs repair. |

Argh..hope it will be in recovery mode rather than the latter when I power cycle it.
just curious, I have no problem accessing it from the network. Everything was there, everything working. Just when I view it on TV it still showing as updating.

odd that didn't error out since it should have closed down everything running or gave an ERR029 if it couldn't. Perhaps it just had trouble getting the firmware to update with. try the usb instructions

I'm a lucky man.
Rebooted PCH, everything still intact. So, instead of using USB, I updated the firmware from within and seems to me it works.

But it reboots with avchdiso and mt2s . So it's still the same and i went back to 02-04-110519-21-POP-411-000. I will leave it this firmware till a better firmware is around. Wildebeast |

Try the Test AVCHD files to confirm if it is an issue for all files. See 200 Video section stickies for test files.

For people having booting problems after fw update or after a factory reset:
Try unhooking the networkcable after the update is downloaded or before a factory reset. I found the unit hangs because of some strange multicast that takes forever. It made my 16 port Cisco look like an old Startrek movie.

Why is it a PIA to do FW update for PCH?

I'm having DNS issues, losing all connection to the internet irregularly, so, 'i think', i want this update.
I did a reboot and a factory reset before this proces. 1. Unzip and copy all files into the root directory of a USB thumbdrive Done. 2. Plug the USB thumbdrive into the NMT Takes +/- 5 minutes before USB drive is recognized 3. Browse to the USB device and use the File Icon to browse to usbupdate.html No problems here 4. Press Enter on usbupdate.html, and another Enter on the listed firmware update link. No problems here 5. Firmware update will commence and will automatically reboots after done. Failed ERR029, both from the internet or USB drive. Now what to do? ![]() 6. After NMT boots up with new firmware, if a NMT applications update is needed, the NMT applications update Wizard will start automatically. 7. Follow through the steps and select to update from USB. 8. NMT applications update will commence and will automatically reboots after it is done. 9. Final step we recommend is to reset the player to Factory Defaults, select this option in Setting > Maintenance. 10. Firmware and NMT applications update is completed at this point |

Wow, this is the first update that I didnt have to mess around with any of my setting or network devices. I plugged the usb drive, update and the PCH rebooted and it worked. Awesome!
The only bad side effect is that the UI is pretty slow to move forward whenever I select and press enter. It took almost a minute ti recognize my usb flash drive. Prior to the two updates the UI was quick just as quick as my Dune. Any reason why it got slow? Anything I can do to speed it up? |
