RE: [A-2x0] Firmware 03-04-120807-21-POP-411 (03-04-111220-21-POP-411) (10.08.2012)
I've got my desktop and popcorn connected to a router.
My desktop is my source for media. Today I installed the new firmware (usb) and I followed the instructions. I couldn't connect to my desktop anymore. Then I manually entered my share maps and voila, it worked again, all of my maps. Now 5 minutes later I get the same error "unable to resolve the host name". Wth? Nothing changed! I did not reset my router, desktop or popcorn. It just stopped working all of sudden! Took my a few hours to get it working and now this... Crap, it's too late, I'm off to bed. Hopefully I'll find a solution tomorrow. In the meantine, if anyone can help me please do! Thanks! EDIT: Nothing's wrong with my pc. I can still access these maps using my laptop (which is connected, wireless, with the router and part of the same workgroup) Network on my laptop doesn't show my popcorn anymore... earlier it was there. |

I installed the latest firmware on my A200 and when i try to access my shared folder on my Synology, i receive 'Unable to resolve the host Name'. Before the firmware update everything was working fine.

I've got problem with iso's and folders with DVD copies after last upgrades. If I try to play iso or folder when all NMT apps are started, device freezes with black screen on TV, and I can only switch it off with holding "Power" button on remote. On the 2011 firmware everything was ok.
When apps are stopped everithing is ok. As far as I check FTP server isn't guilty. Problem with some other app. |

I did everything I could think of to solve my problem....
In the end I changed back to the previous firmware and now everything is ok again. No more updates for me. |

I tried to factory reset, change many settings in the network config but it didn't work... My A210 is just unusable now.. ok finally it is working again, I don't know why I had to go back to the March 2011 firmware, I was using the May's firmware before but now it is not working.. |

Also, using browse, I can see the servers, but get the error as soon as I choose a server to see shared folders. I think I will rollback to the (1 y.o.) previous version

I haven't tried it but I thought this release was online? Does the settings->maint->check for update not work?

It would be nice to know if anyone from Syabas is working on resolving the issues with this current firmware.
While it's comforting that I'm not the only person who had to roll back to a 1+ year old firmware, the silence from Syabas isn't. Thanks. |

They are always working on it. but given IFA/cedia/IBC is around the coroner I doubt they have time to come into the forums. And this firmware was just put out 10 days ago, If path follows they do a circle of firmwares for all products so just have to wait for the circle to come around again. |

Enough of this gaya firmware and it's time to throw it out and get the new 300 series framework and ui into the units. When most 200 owners want the new NMJ and system it seems like a waste of time to keep working on this one. Side note though, your issues are probably a nand problem and the previous recommendation of doing a full jumper on the board firmware recovery and then upgrade again will probably allow this new firmware to work better than your player has in a long time. It's how many who found their units almost unusable after update fixed them. Your showing the same symptoms. |

Well, I've been trying to do this and I get to the part where I need to install the newest firmware and I'm greeted with the lovely error that says "Update Failed Wrong kernel version" Has my a-200 been bricked? |

You should be able to put the recovery firmware back onto the unit and this will go away. I recommend you strip down to minimal tings connected to the unit. pull out drives, disconnect the network cable. Sounds trivial but your getting a kernel error and if there's a problem with the kernel, the less additional things connected will help. You should also get a support ticket open, this might require repair or replacement. Now my only other thought here is perhaps you did something with the unit that your not mentioning to us. Quote:Has my a-200 been bricked? A bricked unit doesn't work at all. And more likely it would go into recovery mode before being bricked. |
