Ftp using another port (Not 21)
I have a Qnap using port 21. Is it possible to configure the C-300 to use another port and if yes, which port would you suggest. I tried several ports like 2121 etc but they did not work though they were properly forwarded. Thanks in advance.

Try setting up your client for passive. Active ftp takes 2 ports to connect.

My client is setup for passive. IS there anyway in which to configure the FTP port of the C300. Port 21 wrks fine but if i want to run ftp on port 21021 how do I do it.

RE: Ftp using another port (Not 21)
I would think editing the config file but to be honest never tried or looked if it was possible. in theory it is because ftp server would be stored on the drive which should be fully writable.

Why was your port forwarding not working for it is a bigger question. should be easy to make port 21021 be the pch port 21.

I just cannot get the Qnap responding to any other port except 21, same with the PCH. So I was wondering if possible to configure the PCH to use any other port. Maybe that would work.

I changed the Qnap port to 6500 and change my FTP CLient to Filezilla (was using WSFTP Pro before) and instantly it logged on to the Qnap as well as the PCH. Reverted back to the old client with same config as in the Filezilla and again could not log onto the Qnap. So now using Filezilla only and have access to both the FTP's on one network. Thanks everyone for your help again.

I don't really get why this is a problem. If your trying to open these units up to the world, you can keep both the same port and it's all done in port forwarding.

the qnap forum would probably be the best help for qnap config questions.
