Play Button Not Working

Hi All,

I have searched through the forum and as yet have not found an answer to this.

I have Oversight installed on a PCH A-300 and everything works perfectly apart from the play button which does nothing. I get the message asking if i want to play and when i click 'ok' it does not play.

is this an issue with the A-300 or have i messed something up somewhere along the line?

Edit: I should also add that I'm running the latest testing release: 2.0-testing-r2362

I do have eversion installed but they are not linked at all.
Does it make any difference if it's video_ts folders that I'm trying to play?

How are you connecting to oversight? Via a web browser?
As I don't have a 300 series I cannot be sure but I don't think the play from web browser will work on the 300 series as the commandline for play may have changed.

Yeah I'm connecting via a web browser. Maybe that is the issue then. I have to say though I would have thought if it was an A300 issue then there would be more discussion surrounding it...?

I will maybe have a look into it myself and see if i can provide the developer with a command that does work, time to put the technical side of my mind to the test!

You have to use Oversight-Eversion with an a300. Normal Oversight is HTML only. Read this thread, it will tell you everything you need to know.

Thanks darucla, I will try and get this working in a bit.

My ultimate goal is to be able to use a PC or Tablet to select the film to watch, unfortunately I don't think this will give me that result, perhaps its a feature for future development.

As far as I know nobody has made a skin to view oversight from a different device and play it directly on the pch at the same time. It's possible to do that, but someone would have to make it.

The closest thing available right now that can do that is yamj with iskin but yamj does not run from the pch.

oversight will play from pc tab or phone but this is on the c200 a110 i dont
think it works on 300

It could work is my point. It might be different from the gaya based play call but it is possible.

hi in browser view if put the mouse over movie whats the link say at bottom of the page ie file name
it should be ie .mov .avi .mkv and so on

here is an example of one of the links that is displayed:

I'm wondering if there is a way of adapting this link so that it uses TheDavidBox. I don't actually know what this link is doing in the background, it could already be calling TheDavidBox API for all I know.

Also I don't know if it makes a difference but I only have BluRay folders or DVD Folders so it doesn't exactly have a file extension like you mentioned above.

the link is wrong it should end in the extension ie I AM LEGEND.MKV
CHECK THE FILE NAME IN THAT FOLDER BUT NO CAPS
sorry didnt see bluray and dvd folders bit i dont have them like that maybe
oversight doesnt see them

I don't think that will work as DVD folders are made up of multiple files so it would only end up playing one of the many parts.
