C-300 No DTS Master HD sound
I checked the forum and did not find anyone has reported
There is No DTS Master HD sound on the C-300 when playing a full menu BlueRay file folder (BDMV) Firmware 05-02-120806-23-POP-420-000 and NMT apps: 05-02-111220-23-POP-420 This is being reported for the C-300 playing Blue Ray folders with full menus created by AnyDVD HD. The sound is HDMI set to passthrough 'This occurs for all files containing DTS-Master HD It occurs when played from a network attached device, USB HDD or an internal HDD This is not related to the BD audio switching problem mentioned in the release notes It does not occur for lossy compression DTS files (Core audio) and does not occur for Dolby True HD audio. The same files do play properly on a C-200 |

(08-16-2012 05:56 PM)accident Wrote: http://www.networkedmediatank.com/showth...?tid=56823 Thanks for the link. I previously had read that thread and since it primarily was started to report a bug in the A300 and has a few entries about the C300 I wanted to make sure a bug report was started directly addressing the C300 since the C300 has the license to use full blue Ray disc playback. |

RE: C-300 No DTS Master HD sound
Try this as a workaround. Tested with Lord of the Rings.
Start the movie. As soon as the main feature starts, select the HD audiotrack. Then press power. The unit will switch off. Next switch on. You will be in the file list. Start the movie again, it will resume and have HD audio again. If it does not work the first time, try again. |

RE: C-300 No DTS Master HD sound
Sometimes you can get the Audio working by switching between the AC audio track and the DTS master track or by stopping the movie and start it again.
It seems that this problem consist of several factors. At another tread i read that it's possible to get the movies to play by chosing downmix instead of passthrough for the soundstream - that was new for me. Nearly all the ISO files not playing correctly on the C300 will work on the C200. I found a specific movie that can be used to test because it seems to be very hard to play with DTS HD Master Audio it's called Abduction produced in 2011. If you make a ISO with AnyDVDHD it will not play any sound on a PCH C300. On a C200 you will get normal sound. On a Dune HD Max there will be sound but it would be disturbed and noisy. You can also find other movies f.exsample Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol in the scenes with the sandstorm the DTS Master Audio will crash totally on a C300 - on a C200 no crach - on a Dune HD Max some disturbance but not as heavy as on the C300. Could be interesting if someone who own this movies make a backup with another program than AnyDvdHd to see if the problem is somehow caused by the ripper. The above mentioned problems are the same no matter if you stream from NAS, HD or USB. Even If you unpack the ISO and play directly from a file you will still have the problems. I just saw on another tread that some guys had sondproblems with HD Audio and solved it by manually resetting the Onkyo 809 receivers decoding type so that the handshake re-initiates" to get the sound back in order. I'm not a electronic engineer but it sounds like there could be a problem for the PCH A300 and C300 to keep the handshake intact then it's streaming to a AV Receiver. Maybe they fails to renew the handshake then you switch between trailers and the movie so the sound somehow gets out of sync. I hope Syabas has a qualified technician that could look into this. PCH C200, C300, Oppo BD-P93, Onkyo NR-TX1009, Samsung 55" Smart TV, Epson EH-TW5500, 120" screen, Wired cat. 6 network, 4 Qnap TS410 NAS. |

RE: C-300 No DTS Master HD sound
I only managed to get this working by disabling blu-ray menu's completely. As soon as I enable full of simple menu's the sound stops working.
