Yesterday I went on thetvdb.com

After I saw that I can access some series I started to run my yamj

Unfortunately when it was finished none of my series contained any information

Is it possible that there is an other problem instead of the site only being maintenanced on?

the sites still having issues, I know it was up and down all yesterday.. btw, just because the tv show goes by on the screen when you run yamj, it doesn't mean yamj tried to get the infomration again. You might want to try deleting the xml for 1 tv show, (and the set for that tv show) and see if that appears.

it shouldn't be this hard.. post some of your settings and log messages when it's failing.

deleted the whole jukebox and created an nfo name: folder name content: page of series on thetvdb.com

It seemed to recognise the series because it returned the right id but wouldnt download any information or pictures.

this could be the problem:

thetvdb.dvd.episodes=true

thetvdb doesn't have dvd numbering for many shows. Also it may not really match your dvds because people release dvd, bluray, sets of many with all different discs.

my only other thought is maybe download yamj again, delete the lib and properties folder and replace it with the downloaded copies. maybe there's a yamj install/upgrade problem.

That was a good idea! I exchanged the plugin by another version an now everything seems to be working ok.

Is it possible yamj was able to find tv series data better with the redefined html skin than with the flash skins? For example I didnt have any problem to find info on all the scrubs episode on redefined and now on eversion i only find part of them.

What about the naming:
Episode title SxxExx.iso

Is it possible to add:
Episode title SxxExx - Name of Episode.iso

The info after the slash shouldnt be taken into account for the search for info is it?

Its kind of confusing. After that I used the newer version of the thetvdb-plugin I received better results. BUT sometimes the plugin would find results for season 1 and 2 of a show but not for season 3 and 4 or whatever. It seems to be very inconsistent. Even if I direct the plugin to the page by nfo-file I wouldnt turn up the right results for some shows.

I used the nfo-file as follows: url to page of show with the name of the nfo being the name of the folder of the show.

And idea what be going wrong?

There is nothing in the skins that affects how a show is detected on thetvdb

There are usually a couple of things wrong when the first seasons are matched but subsequent ones are not.
1) The filenames are different between seasons, sometimes this can cause an issue
2) The show is actually matched to a different (or incorrect) show on the tvdb that doesn't have all the seasons in it

The best way to sort these is with a NFO URL pointing to the show page (not season page).

I am starting to lose my nerves with thetvdb. What ever I change the plugin doesnt seem to be able to fetch me the right info!

You are using a very old version of YAMJ, you should possibly try updating YAMJ as r3170 has some quite significant updates to scanning and detecting the changes in thetvdb.

Secondly, You do need to give some examples of what the issues are. I'm good but I can't guess what problems you are facing.

I tried r3170 and r3174. Unfortunately they didnt even scan the normal movies right with which the r3136 didnt have any problem with. Even if I provide fanart and covers the newer versions wouldnt add them to the movie info. No idea what the problem was.

Right now im testing r3165.

Is there anything specific I have to tell yamj to recognize a series of episodes as a tv show? Is there anything I have to include in the nfo together with the website of the series on thetvdb for yamj to do the right thing? It seems to scan imdb even though I added a website for thetvdb.

What might be the problem if yamj finds posters for some seasons of a show but not for the rest. Also it found posters but no fanart or banners or moviepictures for some seasons. Even though there are some on thetvdb. And sometimes it found posters but no info to each episode.

On the other hand tv shows seem to be much less defined. I dont really have that much of an idea how to lead yamj to the right information. Something that I find quite well done for the movies. What do you mean?
What isn't right?
Is the movie the wrong name?
Is the artwork wrong?

You need to provide information that I can use to diagnose the problem.

You MUST name the filename correctly.
{showname} S{season}E{episode}.avi at the minimum.
Don't have dashes (-) or other stuff in the filename until you get it working correctly. It should work with all of those, but lets get it right with simple stuff first

There are lots of reasons for that. I can't guess without seeing the log file for that particular show or episode. Post it to pastebin or similar.

Again, I have no information to give you because you don't tell me anything that I can use to find the issue.

Describe what is wrong in as much detail as possible, is there an error in the log files?
Is there blank artwork?
wrong artwork?
Information for the wrong film? what is wrong??!?
