Boxcovers and YAMJ

Hi guys

I'm struggling to get Boxcovers to work with YAMJ.

I run YAMJ everything is fine, then i run Boxcovers and build the example which works fine, then build all and it completes with no problems but when i go onto my PCH (after clearing cache) it shows the set stacks with boxes but doesn't show boxes anywhere else even inside of the sets.

I've kinda had it working before but used to miss odd boxes as well for single films and when clicking "build new" it ran though every file instead of just the new ones so something is going wrong somewhere but i have no idea where or why.

Can anyone help me out a little please?

I figured it out

I looked in my jukebox folder and i had 4 picture files for each film, 2 JPEG'S and 2 PNG's

So i had a look at Boxcovers and there is a option to choose the file type so i just changed that to match YAMJ's picture file output and now every thing is working smoothly

sounds like boxcover might be starting to age where yamj's starting to drift from what it's expecting to be there..

Thanks for posting the fix. If you end up with a transparency problem, keep in mind you can also adjust yamj to output to png also and put the boxcover setting back.

Just a question a little off topic.

Whichever Skin i use it doesn't look HD on my 60" TV and 1080p. On the PC it looks great but when it comes to watching it on the PCH it looks like its being upscaled so its lost its sharpness and is more blurry. Also when plugging the PC into the TV and running the index.html it only fills about 50% of the screen (running the PC at 1080p as well).

Are there any settings i need to be changing anywhere to up the resolution?

It renders at 720 and then upscales, unfortunately, so there's not a lot you can do apart from accept it for what it is.

You could try decreasing the jpeg compression factor in your YAMJ preferences file to maximise the amount of image detail present but if you've already found it looks good on the PC and poor on the PCH with the same files then you probably won't see any improvement.

It's one of my gripes as it's really obvious on my big display but then it does have (very) limited processing power and I've just had to accept its limitations since it generally plays movies so well.

For the compression am i adding "mjb.jpeg.quality=100" line to moviejukebox.properties?

I'm gonna try setting the PCH to run at 720p because i have just set that on the PC and ran it trough the TV and i got it full screen instead of the pic below, so maybe settings at 720p will stop it up scaling and get me a sharper picture

Need another bit of help if possible.

Every time i add a new movie or TV show (which i edit though Ember media manager first for covers and stuff) i run YAMJ which adds the files with no problem but when i run boxcovers and choose "build new" or "build new and sets" it runs through every movie and tv show i have instead of just the new ones so it take quite a while to update when it should be very quick as its only adding a couple of new things.

Anyone have any idea why its running though everything?

I thought YAMJ might be modifying the files in some way every time i run it so boxcovers thinks they are all new but i have everything set to false in YAMJ so i don't think it could be that. Also looking at the "date modified" in my films folder none have been modified (expect the new additions) so i am stumped.
