scanning on NAS
Hello, i am confused in setting up the share path any help appreciated.

Movies stored on nas server name is NAS
films stored in: Blu-ray Movies

what do i enter in oversight scan paths

tried everything from here: http://code.google.com/p/oversight/wiki/...e_on_a_NAS

with no luck. Works perfectly within popcorn hour and the inbuilt jukebox.

Assuming the share name is NAS

try in scan path NAS/Blu-ray

Remember that the pch is running Linux which is requires exact tense ie nas is different than NAS.

Still no luck tried
scan_paths=NAS/Blu-ray_Movies or
NAS/Blu-ray_Movies or
NAS/volume1/Blu-ray_Movies
looking at the path on nas volume1 is there before blu ray folder but tried all combinations.

RE: scanning on NAS
if this is a 300, you might be able to solve teh issue by calling your share share1. you may need to delete all shares, reboot and then put the share back in for it to fully work.

Lordy doesn't have a 300 to fully test and update it for that model. My original tests for eversion I was able to make it work by calling it share1, and then going into the share to make sure it mounted before having oversight scan

RE: scanning on NAS
the share1 issue happens on the 2xx series as well if you have the latest firmware.

do you have telnet access to your NMT?
If so what is the output of mount?

also post the output of:
Code:
ls -la /opt/sybhttpd/localhost.drives/NETWORK_SHARE/

Another thought.
Try removing the space from the folder name or use
Code:
NAS/Blu-ray\ Movies

Tried the above still not working. Telnet not sure about all that cannot be doing with messing about i will just stick with the inbuilt jukebox it just works. Thanks anyhow

RE: scanning on NAS
Encountered NAS issues before.

What works for me (and pch's in general I guess) is to give both the PCH and NAS a static IP address. Even tho you can browse to your NAS from your PCH, oversight needs the ip-address for some reason. Otherwise it will scan nothing at all.

On the PCH, when you browse to your NAS to make a connection and selected it, change the name of your nas into the ipaddress of your NAS.

So, if your NAS is called NAS01 and the folder is called Blu-ray (smb://NAS01/Blu-ray), inside the network settings change this to ip.address.of.nas/Blu-ray (e.g. smb//192.168.1.2/Blu-ray).

Cheers,

Danny

Friends just keep you away from TV.
