Kaiboer K200 - Remote access to HDDs ?
Hy everyone.
I'm still fiddling my way with this Kaiboer K200, as I was told it's supposed to be quite the same as a NMT 100 series. The thing is the user manual is so vague and with such scarse information one has to feel his way in and not everything is as clear as it could be. The unit is connected to my domestic network, a cable connects is to my wireless router and I can access the internal HDD with my PC, transfer contents from one to another, etc... no problem there. Now, if an external HDD is connected via either of the two USB ports, I can only browse or play its contents on the PC. I cannot transfer anything into the external HDD ( or from it ). Is this the way it is really supposed to be ? Help please Thank you. Pete |

RE: Kaiboer K200 - Remote access to HDDs ?
Try FTP and I think you may have success that way.
It'll most likely be your USB HDD and its software and permissions. What is it or have you got a HDD inside a USB enclosure? RE: Kaiboer K200 - Remote access to HDDs ?
I've got a 1TB inside the Media Tank, no problem with permissions, etc.
Then I've got two other external 500Gb connected to the Tank's USBs. I cannot make any changes on their contents using the PC to access them. I have to pull them out and hook them to the pc if I wanna do so. Everytime I try to do so, I get a message on the pc that reads somthing like "you need a permission to do that". Where shoul I look at now ? Thanks ! |

Did you try FTP?
What USB HDD make and model? How is that USB HDD structured? Do they have set folders and can you do admin on them for permissions? RE: Kaiboer K200 - Remote access to HDDs ?
Nope, no go.
Pulled the HDDs back into the PC, allowed permissions for everyone and everything and still cannot write or delete in either of them once they're hooked onto the Media Tank. Maybe it only fully shares the internal HDD rather than the externals ... of that's how it's mean to be then so it is. |

RE: Kaiboer K200 - Remote access to HDDs ?
As long as you have the NMT Apps installed on the internal HDD and have the SMB and FTP servers turned ON in Setup > NMT Applications you should be able to access both the internal HDD and any attached USB HDD's via your PC.
When you enter: \\IPofyourK200 In the W7 Start > Search All Files and Folders box it should ask you for a user name and password. It should then show you your /share, the internal HDD, and also any attached USB HDD's. Then you should be able to simply copy/paste via SMB or use FTP to transfer. If the USB HDD's are from some manufacturers they have software and partitioning. They also have set folder names and access. We dont know anything about the make/model to be able to get advice from other owners or search the forum for them. I think I know what's going on.
Can't remember what password I put on the Samba. What now ? Reinstall all NMT apps ? (followup) YES ! Resinstalled and then nmt pass : 1234 DONE, thanks |
