I use a cheap generic store brand lately, I got a few months out of the last set and never had them last that long. the trick above of pulling one out and putting it back in will get you another week.. not really sure why that helps but it does. you'll keep seeing the backlight get darker and darker each time you do that though.

Yes, thanks for all your responses. Please PCH, this is getting annoying and c-300 is an expensive device and we users expect more from you.

Okay, finally my remote (c-300) went kaput yesterday. No amount of pressing would do any good nor battery changing, although the remote's key backlight is working but the player just doesn't respond. Anyway, my old c-200 remote does work with the c-300 but what would my c200 (still in use) do then? Lastly, I opted to use the android remote app and lo behold, my old problems of remote not responding disappears. Now, just need to get a smaller tablet to use as a remote.

Thank you. Pairing remote works but still after some period of inactivity, the remote doesn't work and I have to take the batteries out and put them back in. Only then, will the player responds. I'm starting to prefer the android remote app but I need to get a wireless dongle for my c-200 which is not that easy as only a couple of dongles the player support.
