Errr, actually windows has a nfs client build in, most doesn't know that but you can activate it on the windows components.

Nah, *some* version of say Win7 has NFS client. Microsoft says "Client for NFS is only available in Windows 7 Ultimate and Enterprise.". As for Vista and previous Windows...

Yeh get yourself a bit on conduit and run your cable through it. You can get conduit very cheap from electrical retailers. Take along your ethernet cable to test in the shop thwe conduit sizes.
