Is it time to declare my A-110 dead, or is there hope?

Is it time to declare my A-110 dead, or is there hope?
My A-110 has served me well for three years now, but yesterday it seems it gave up.

I've had it connected through HDMI to my LCD-TV all this time, until last week when the TV caved. After that I changed to a different LCD-TV, and again connected it through HDMI, seemingly problem free. It worked as it should until yesterday, when the TV all of a sudden didn't receive any signal from the PCH.

I tried switching to a different HDMI cable and port, but to no avail, still no signal.

I tried using a Composite cable instead, and that worked. I reached the setup menu, where I figured I'd change the video output from AUTO to something HDMI.

And so I did, but still nothing through the HDMI. Instead I lost the signal from the Composite, although not entirely. I'll see the booting sequence through the Composite cable, but as soon as the loading is done, it turns black.

I've seen other threads on here describing similar situations:

Thread 1
Thread 2

But the solutions suggested there do nothing for me. I've tried changing the video output using the TV mode button on the remote, and chosing HDMI/720p, which should work on each and every HDTV, but nothing happens. I've also tried putting it on AUTO, but again, nothing happens.

Any ideas?

Thankful for any input.

EDIT: I made a boo-boo; I've used Composite, not Component.

RE: Is it time to declare my A-110 dead, or is there hope?
I've always had issues with my a110 not liking my receiver. IE if I don't turn off the pch (well put it to sleep via the off button) when I use my receiver remote to go back to PCH it doesn't like to handshake. I always have to turn the popcorn hour off and on to get it to handshake.

Maybe your having a similar handshake issue. When you have the right input selected on your tv. Turn the popcorn hour off so the red light is on. Then turn it back on.

I don't have the problem if I hook it up to the TV instead of the receiver. I was just thinking your TV might be as picky as the HDMI on my receiver.

My A110 also suffers from unstable receiver handshakes when I'm not careful in turning on devices in a certain order (TV and receiver are left in stand-by but I always use the off button to turn off the pch). My feel is that it has to do with hardware, something like tensions that build up due to a careless earth connection somewhere. When this happens, pressing the reset button (pen click next to the front usb) solves the issue. Just my 2 cents..

A110: COMPONENT C200: USB(Apps), 2.5" HDD, HDMI

RE: Is it time to declare my A-110 dead, or is there hope?
Thanks for the responses.

I should however point out that I have rebooted the PCH in every way possible; hard, soft, and even by pulling the power cord. I have also tried resetting using the reset button in the front. None of these actions change anything.

I just realized that, after having changed video output to HDMI, from AUTO, the PCH no longer responds to my remote button actions. This might be the reason why I can't seem to change the TV mode using the remote.

I did work before, since I was able to do this:

Cheers!
