I understand recent firmware update disabled volume control function in C200. The volume can only go as high as 0.
Is there any way I can increase the volume? I found I have to really focus to be able to hear the conversation in the movies. My C200 is connected directly to TV via HDMI. I tried trun volume to "-1" then "0" then "power" followed by "eject". It doesn't make any material/noticable differences. If I crank up TV volume way high, when turning to watch TV it gives me a heart attack. Is there any other way I can increase the volume output from C200/ input to TV? Do I have to buy an amplifier? That's hundres of $. It will be great if there is a switch in the C200 Setup screen enables you to swith on/off volume control. Thanks |

RE: C200 volumn low
I agree, I have to do the same, turn the TV volume up way high to watch a film then when you turn to normal TV it scares the living daylights out of you. I didn't realise recent firmwares had caused this.
Someone please advise as it does my head in! Regards mabies |

RE: C200 volumn low
See here:
http://www.networkedmediatank.com/showth...n=lastpost The volume will not be allowed to go above 0 as some owners simply cranked it up to max and then sent their units back claiming audio was distroted/clipping. ![]() Had they not done that then we would not have to jump for the remote with great speed all the time. Adding a setting will stop not stop owners dong the same damn thing. They will simply enable it and then complain. You have to cut things down to make some things idiot proof. RE: C200 volumn low
I would still encourage all of us who are not happy with the recent removal of volume control to voice our request of adding an on/off switch at PCH website, through support function, just like what I did yesterday.
If PCH team concerns about adding a switch might cause more units returned, they should then remove all setup functions in PCH as improper setup could also cause differen type of distortion here and there. Overall, having this product for so many years, I do have faith in PCH team. They clearly listen to our owners feedbacks (the removal of this function was one example, even though I didn't like this change) and try to improve their product. The matter is really in our hands now to create low enough noise/big enoughpopulation to request such a tiny improvement. |

RE: C200 volumn low
I'm not saying dont do it I just wanted you to have realistic expectations.
Thinking back they have tried colour coding the volume and that didnt stop it. If there could be a way that would block it unless you confirmed your acceptance and gave a warning, then volume could return after each play to 0 or something. Thinking about that though volume and other settings were made persistent if i remember right. You have to make something idiot proof. RE: C200 volumn low
I think they could add a menu option which allows for no volume control (which some of us want), -15 to 0 or -15 to +15, with a warning that distortion could occur when it is selected.
Then, if they get support calls, ensure the user tests with it set on 0 maximum and make them pay the shipping both ways if they return an box as faulty through their own stupidity. Then everyone could be happy. Thoughts on Syabas support? Share them here |

RE: C200 volumn low
The problem is that the "zero" level in the current firmware is lower (a much) than in the previous....
