Rip to FLAC, Tag ID3 version?

Rip to FLAC, Tag ID3 version?
Hello,

I'm trying to rip my Audio CDs to FLAC by using EAC (Exact Audio Copy).
If I use tag ID3 v2 instead of v1.x, I can't play my .flac on C200 (last firmware). When I try to play them, C200 goes back to souce screen and stop.
With ID3 v1..x all is correct...

So my quesiton is: what is the correct software I should use to rip Audio CD to Flac and which version of ID3 works with NMJ or single player included in C200?
Regards

RE: Rip to FLAC, Tag ID3 version?
You shouldn't use ID3 tags at all in FLAC files; you should use VORBIS comments.

Some players support ID3 for completeness but the FLAC spec says to use VORBIS comments, and that's what the Popcorn Hour expects.

Ok. So which software can I use to rip Audio CD to FLAC with Vorbis comments?

The inability to setup and configure the NMT should not be disguised as a defect of the box

RE: Rip to FLAC, Tag ID3 version?
You can also edit/convert the tags in mp3tag from what I've been led to believe.

If you open a bunch of files by choosing the parent directory, press CTRL-A to select them all and then CTRL-X to cut the tags, they'll get removed from the files and stored in the clipboard. When you press CTRL-V to paste them back they should be pasted back in the proper format (i.e. VORBIS comments) direct into the files.

Maybe test this on a copy of one directory of files and see how you get on.

I've used this method where I've had more than one tag type in a file before to clean them up.

Thank you again.
But I'm just starting to rip so I will use the right software to do this.

If you're just starting out then you might as well do it properly. I'll add a +1 for Willem's suggestion of FooBar 2000 for ripping.

Indeed it's what I've done (downloaded foobar2000).
I'ven't tried it for the moment but it probably will be the software I will use.

RE: Rip to FLAC, Tag ID3 version?
I use mp3tag to embed covers and also do Tag<>Name import/export so that my filename and tags are the same.

Never had a problem yet. Occasionally I use Mediamonkey but as cue support is not on the 300 series ive kind of dropped off using it and NMJ for music.

RE: Rip to FLAC, Tag ID3 version?
..; humm.. ok I'm testing Foobar (great soft it seems). but I don't find how to add lyrics.
I've downloaded one components for this but.. don't understand how to do this simply... and Google is not my friend this time.
So is there a way to add lyrics to .flac and .mp3 files simply?
Regards

Edit: Ok I found howto... but C200 doesn't seem to know how to read lyrics... :/
Why is there this option if it doesn't work! Grrr (new thread for this...)
