No HDD in sources list
After working properly for several years, my m32b stopped showing the HDD. Everything else about the unit works, and the HDD is accessible on my PC using an ext2 app (Expected files and folders look correct, movies and pictures are present).
I have access to, but have not tried, a substitute drive and the latest firmware. I just want to be sure that the movies and such don't get lost... Where should I begin to remedy the situation? TIA |

RE: No HDD in sources list
If the HDD has stopped showing up then firmware reinstalling wont fix it.
You need a NMT APPs file. Connect the HDD to a PC and use USB Slave or SATA with Linux ext drivers to move content from it to a new location:- http://www.networkedmediatank.com/wiki/i.../USB_Slave Then format the HDD to NTFS and do tests on it via your PC and manufacturers tools. If the HDD is OK then install in the m32b and then install the NMT Apps. Then connect to your PC and reload the files/folders. Or if you loaded them onto a HDD connect that to your player and use 'filemode' to copy from ext HDD to internal HDD. A400: SSD+SD Card(Apps), HDMI A300: USB(Apps), HDMI C200: USB(Apps), BD SH-B083L(SB01), HDMI CAT6 Wired Network: TV TX-P42G20, HP ProCurve 1400-8G, Netgear GS-608/605, Synology CS407 |

RE: No HDD in sources list
I have searched and cannot find a link to download the APPS... the file I downloaded earlier only has the firmware...

RE: No HDD in sources list
So, I've flashed the firmware, and tried two different HDDs. The original HDD DID have some errors, but they were "fixed" by the Seagate app and I did a full format on the drive.
There is still no hard drive source choice, and I do not have the option to update the NMT apps. On the maintenance page only the current firmware is listed. There is no NMT Version listing or NMT Setup Wizard. The drives SEEM to be connected to power, as they are warm when I remove them, but I don't know how to be sure the data connector is attaching. Is it possible that the mainboard connectors could have shifted? Is there any other way to verify that the BIOS sees the drives? (Can the BIOS be accessed??) My next idea would be to open the case and physically verify it's making a proper connection. Any other ideas welcome. TIA |

RE: No HDD in sources list
you might be able to telnet in and type dmesg to see what's found.. not sure if the way drives works would appear there, don't have a pch witha drive in it to test quick.

NMT Apps are not installed yet, so no version. And installation is possible only on HDD formatted in the mediaplayer.
