My Lil Movie Jukebox (rev4) THREAD CLOSED see rev5
http://www.treasure-cove.net/PCHrev4.htm

Lotz of new features and upgrades with this version:
1. Completely Automated Export Process (well, ... close)
2. Large Actor/Director Biography & Photo (w/included Filmography) detail pages.
3. FunStuff (Goofs/Trivia/Film Locations, etc) on detail pages
4. Many improvements to make this release VERY user-frendly.
5. New Rev4 Demo Video added to webpage.
6. Under 21 movies: no bottom navigation
7. Under 91 movies: Option for "Single Long List" on main index.
8. Support for a Cover Page (in case index filename isn't "index")
9. Export "exe" program now checks for "zero movies" in a particular genre. If no movies, then that particular genre page is NOT shown on index pages. (manual disable also still available)
10. Actor Scan won't export if 'no movies present' for that actor.
11. Program automatically copies over all required folders, etc . to destination.
12. Automatic Setup of Movie Collector filtes & sorts. (no more manual setup needed) Trial Version of MoC ok to use as well.
13. Will run IrfanView (automatically) and cleanup thumbnails (also copies req. ini files)
14. Will run ImageMagick (automatically) and Convert/Enhance Movie Covers (also copies req. bat / support files)
15. Restores original filters/sorts if requested.
16. Use of COLOR BUTTONS on Remote, while in Index pages RED: page sorted Alphabetically, GREEN: Sorted by year (oldest first) YELLOW: Sorted by year (newest first) and BLUE: Return to COVER PAGE.

plus some other stuff that I probably forgot. Sad
I certainly hope this relese will give you many hours of enjoyment with your family & friends ... watching movies!
Many many thanks go out to Dan (Garp) and James (Excal) for helping with testing and recommendations!

EDIT: Just added the GEnre Collector version (towards the bottom of the webpage) ... so check it out!
... see webpage for features.
take care
Allen

Looks cool Legion, did you learn autoit scripting by yourself? I checked it out but couldn't really get my head around it.

RE: My Lil Movie Jukebox (rev4) Ready for Primetime!!!
I didn't change anything concerning Excals addons. I did make a change that makes it "easy" to add a 'cover page' though.

My thinking here is that one makes a 'cover page' (index.htm) and on that page, .. you put buttons for a. Mounting the drives, .. b. Links to Movies (my files), c links to Photos, and d. links to Music.

The My Lil Movie Jukebox would take care of the Movies part. The Cover Page would always be the same. ie, ... "Welcome to the PCH, etc,etc ..." with links to Setup, Mount, and the different media.

take care
Allen

RE: My Lil Movie Jukebox (rev4) Ready for Primetime!!!
Hi.
Just recently bought the PCH and been utilising (well trying) your great program.
I seem to have everything right except all my movies are on my Windows Home Server machine and I'm having trouble linking the "play button" to the movie.
I actually have my Windows Home Server mapped to my desktop computer as Z: anyway.
I've tried Z: as the link and I've tried \\SERVER\Videos\xxxxx.avi as well but when viewing the movies through the PCH and go to the Play Button it says can not play so I'm assuming I don't have the links set up correctly. Can someone guide me on what I'm doing wrong, any suggestions or how I should be typing the link would be appreicated.
Thanks

RE: My Lil Movie Jukebox (rev4) Ready for Primetime!!!
well it more depends on how you entered the links in Movie Collector....did you enter them with the path Z:?

If so thats what you want to set your PC location to...

Then your popcornhour location depends on how you have the Z: mapped to the popcornhour....i'd reccomend giving it a share name...that'd be the easiest....lemme know the setup then i'll help you out some more.

I entered the links as per my original post Z: and then I tried \\SERVER\Videos\xxxx.avi
I think it's more to do with that fact the PCH isn't recognising these links but then I can view SERVER (as it shows up on the menu with other networked drives) on the PCH and play movies that way fine. It's obviously not recognising \\SERVER\Videos\xxxx.avi in the MOC databse for some reason.

In the variables file...

Make the PC location Z:\

(make sure your links in MOC look like Z:\subdirectory\file\etc etc)

Then make your popcornhour location

file:///opt/sybhttpd/localhost.drives/NETWORK_SHARE/SERVER/

Seeing as I have all my movies on \\SERVER\Videos can't I just edit the variables table to point to that??
The Z: is only a mapped drive of the Server on my computer.
Or is it just as easy the way you expalined it.
Also, my computer shows the backslashes when talking root directories not foward slashes. Is this important for the PCh when recognising locations?

So if I just wanted my links in MOC to point to the Server what do I need to type? Is it \\SERVER\Videos\xxx.avi or SMB:\\SERVER\Videos\xxx.avi
And as for the variables list thats stored in the PCH that is still file:///opt/sybhttpd/localhost.drives/NETWORK_SHARE/SERVER/
Is there any need to go via Z: which as I said is a mapped drive of my SERVER/Video anyway. Is there any difference in pointing evertyhing straight to the server/videos directory.
Thanks for your help and sorry for the nube-e-ness.
One other thing: Does the Resources folder need to be stored in the PCH at root level or is it stored where your shared folders are ie. In my case \\SERVER\Videos

RE: My Lil Movie Jukebox (rev4) Ready for Primetime!!!
Hello,

I have some problems...

I installed all and then run "Movie_Jukebox_Script_082508.exe".
Inside my MoC there is created a folder named "Export\Resources". No png files of cover images (details pages), no genres pages (SciFi.htm,...). I don't know why.
I think something is wrong with the setup of ImageMagick - maybe.
I have no idea.

Please help.

Edit: Also no index-page is created! I gave the name "MovieIndex" but nothing...

What happens if in "A100_Variables.xsl" the movies-location "MEDIA LOCATION VARIABLES" points to nothing? I'm at work and I have no movies there but I wanted to create the jukebox to do a test-browse throw.

RE: My Lil Movie Jukebox (rev4) Ready for Primetime!!!
@cesardepasaj

Well it used to work with the links in movie collector listed as a share...but a few revisions ago it stopped working (atleast for me). I had to map the drive to my computer and then re-do my links in movie collector as Z:\video\prestige\prestige.iso

The path i gave you for the popcornhour location assumes that you named the Share in your popcornhour as "SERVER"...If the source in your popcornhour is mapped as smb://server/Videos...then you don't need to add Video's to your Popcornlocation in the variables file....it will be inserted through the name (SERVER).

Also if all your files are under "Z:\video\" then make that your pc location instead of Z:

RE: My Lil Movie Jukebox (rev4) Ready for Primetime!!!
@Michel

Hi Michel, sorry you're having problems.

If you want to do a test...

a. Make a new folder on either your C:\ or D:\ drive called "movietest"
b. Run the Movie Jukebox Setup program.
c. Run the MOvie Julebox Script program. When the program asks for the destination folder, .... key in "d:\movietest\" (without the quotes)
d. When it asks for the index filename ... key in "index" (without the quotes)
e. Click YES for everything else.

WHen finished , you should be able to DOuble-Click on the index.htm file which is inside the D:\movietest folder .... and see the Movie Jukebox at work!!!!!!

NOTE: you do NOT have to edit the variables file in any way to do a test. The only thing that will happen if you don't edit the variables file is you won't have the PLAY BUTTONS present in the individual movie details files. Everything else will work.

hope this helps
Allen
