AAC-HE LATM support again

AAC-HE LATM support again
I think it's been asked a few times already but the thread is closed and I wanted to see what the status was.

Over in NZ we had the Olympics in glorious HD and AC-3 audio which was fine for the PCH. Alas the local broadcaster seems to have decided now that the Olympics are over, they will still broadcast HD (H.264) but with AAC-HE LATM audio. So short of buying an expensive STB or configuring a PC with a video card that has the hardware acceleration to play H.264 video as well as finding a freeware codec to decode the audio, the PCH is out best bet. So another plea for a software update for the PCH to play this audio format. Apparently the new Sigma SDK has the drivers for it so it shouldn't have to be a ground up development.

Thanks

Me too please. I was really enjoying the AC3 coverage. The PCH was handling it relly well, and making for a good picture. Now the broadcaster has gone back to AAC-HE LATM and so there goes my HD broadcasts. Please support it!!

Video RE: AAC-HE LATM support again
Norwegian broadcaster http://www.RiksTV.no also use HE-AAC,
and I would love to see my A-110 support it.

Please see linked test file: test file 19 MB (full HD .ts inside .zip)

I'm able to stream live TV from my PC using NetStream plugin in DVBviewer,
but no sound, ... yet ...

RE: AAC-HE LATM support again
Now if all the NZ, Norwegian and Finnish PCH owners post their requests, perhaps Syabas will listen?

RE: AAC-HE LATM support again
Since I suspect another firmware update is in the works, just another vote to have AAC-HE LATM support. Apparently it's in the latest Sigma SDK so that for me and a bunch of others around the world, would make the PCH the perfect media player. Syabas - any update on timings? Thanks

RE: AAC-HE LATM support again
Oh well. We keep on waiting and hopingUndecided For me anyway, this is the biggest, if not the only new function I would want on the PCH (apart perhaps from being to resume)

Resume is implemented in the current beta and will be part of the next firmware release.

RE: AAC-HE LATM support again
For me in NZ, the lack of LATM support is the only thing preventing me from getting one of these.

RE: AAC-HE LATM support again
I had one when the DVB-T broadcasts used a different standard and was pretty happy about it. But when they went live, they went to AAC-HE LATM and we PCH owners got screwed :-( Let's Syabas can help fix this situation soon
