HDD Compatibility List for A-110

The List of Compatible HDD's is now maintained on the WIKI, please add your findings to the WIKI.

This is an OLD list and should NOT be used for reference.

PCH Support report that WD HDD's, in particular the WD10EACS are causing problems. The WD Intellipark system is also a problem with HDD shutdown.

Below you can find HDD´s which are working with the PCH A-110 and also which are not working on A-110
Please if you have an HDD inside fill in the Mask which is attached in this post and report, so we can make an List

Notes: PCH A-110 with FW Rev 01-17-080818-15-POP-403-000 (Kernel 15-POP) will not recognize/display Hitachi HDD in Media Source menu. PCH will recognize/display WD Raptor 300GB (OS boot drive from PC system) so PCH SATA connector is OK. Travelstar is recognized on PC system so the non-recognized drive is also functional.

Notes: I tried to install Samsung SP2504C and format both in the ext / 3 and ext / 2 with the latest firmware on a USB root. Formatting finished after a few attempts and NMT programs installs on this disk. Problems starts when you use the disk w. Samba (smb: / / ip / share), then the disk shuts down by it self after 4-10 minutes. I would not recommend this disk to be used in A-110. I tried this disk as well in 1,5Gbps transfer mode with the same result(s).

This was going to be my HDD of choice for my custom case Popcorn Hour project!

no on b110 we where able to install an different controller there it will work tested by QA, thats also why this list is called A110

umm i don't want to sound critical here...
but since the majority of the disks will probably work with the unit, is it not better to just the ones that don't work ?
the list will grow very big otherwise ....

you have to see it in different view, if an user looks here and he has an problem with an HDD, which normaly should work, because the list tells you that then it is good because he will find out that he makes something wrong or that the hdd is bad.
