Im gonna do some more tests to see what it can be... maybe that i have the videooutput set to auto and not fullhd or something...

I have the same problem. HDTV and it only uses the SD versions of the loading and playing images. If you figure out a fix let me know.

+1. I really haven't got the time to muck about in telnet, but would like to replace the images. The Community Installer is a fantastic idea and this is ideal for the Installer treatment

RE: changing the pch "buffering" image?
Anyone found an image file for the screen that is shown at boot time of the PCH? It looks exactly like the buffering screen except that the string "buffering" is replaced by "loading".

I assume that the loading screen is compiled into the boot-software and, thus, that there is no accompanying file that can be changed (like /bin/demo.jpg).

But perhaps, someone was more adept looking for a suitable jpg/png/bmp-file...?!

@meowmoo

I've never tried a 1280x720 buffering image, but garp and mcmilly were saying the original image size is only

"720x480 NTSC or 720x576 PAL" so you may wanna try making it that size.

Also in your text screen Trrible should be "Terribly" Smile

btw, they're very cool....i like them!

Big Grin

You got it wrong again. It should be "Terribly", not "Terrible"

RE: changing the pch "buffering" image?
I like the idea of having a 720p buffering screen but I couldn't get it to work. I can't make the buffering screen look very good either, it has a similar problem as backgrounds in html pages.

RE: changing the pch "buffering" image?
Sometimes the PCH makes me quite sad . . . here we have a nice, compact 1080p device, which cant put 1080p backgrounds on the interface and which struggles to properly display 720p backgrounds . . . i wish syabas could fix that Tongue

Wait a second. It's not only using the lower resolution images, it's using the 720x576 image. Isn't that a PAL resolution? Why would it use that when I'm in the US and everything is set to NTSC?
