normaly it is secure and the question is more why did it breaks something on your device, because your problem is not normal.

Hi, I have similar problem with HDMI. It was working one moment and couldn't play after that on the same file. Screen goes black and then go back to menu again. I am using 720p though on HDMI. Reset to default settings does not work.
I download the firmware to the Aug version and uses component instead and it works fine again. What is the solution to the HDMI issue?

It works with Composite ?

It works with composite too. I tested with web, mkv, iso (xivd or h264) format are ok.
