Hi

I have the WD Passport 120Gb (usb powered) and it's recognised by the PCH100. But i have the following problem: When i plug the disk in most of the cases my remote control stops working after a while, (about 5-10 clicks after) but the movie continues to play. It seems that the current is not enough to power the remote control circuits in the PCH (?). When i unplug the wd120, remote is working again. I used a USB Extra Power Cable to power the disk but problem remains. Problem doesn't appear when using a flash usb stick. I will appreciate any help or anyone with similar problem. thnx

I also have 2 of these Vantec enclosures (external power supply) one with 2 seagate 500Gb (ST3500320AS) and second with 1 seagate 500Gb (ST3500320AS) and 1 seagate 1Tb (ST31000333AS). Works without a pb but it takes pch 20 to 40 seconds to read the drives, tested on both usb ports.

Just wanted to add to the list. I bought a usb drive that works great for everything except 1080P. I tried this drive via usb, internal sata, sata and usb to a PC streaming via wired network. I tried on both my a110 and my friends a100. Drive is optimized for performance. Maybe it's the slow 5400rpm and low 16mb of cache? If 1080p is your thing, stay away from this drive.

i purchased a samsung spinpoint 1tb (7200rpm w/ 32mb cache, already on the list). And both internal sata, usb, over wifi (5ghz 802.11n only), 1080p works flawless.

Hi all,

I was a bit worried when I wentto buy the HDD for my PCH today.
I really wouldn't have liked to get a 1 TB HDD.
After reading all the stuff regarding the Barracuda 1.5 I finally decided to buy one even if I had to pass through a lot (like explained in the forum).
Finally all went well, the formatting was really quick though and I did all the setup using the online way after upgrading my firmware online with the latest firmware available (the one from the 26th of February if I'm not mistaken)
