PCH A-100 -- can I send my audio/video files thru wireless?
Hi,

I'm nubee to this technology but very tempted to get on the bandwangon.

I cannot run a wired network line to A-100 which would be placed near my HomeTheater/BigScreen TV. Can I send audio/video files (from 0.5mb thru 80 mb) via wireless USB network card? (I have DLINK wireless G router that I currently use to use internet with my laptop wirelessly near to my HT/TV.) I dont want to stream files but only need to xfer files to the A100 for later playing on my HT audio and video on TV. My TV is 480P so most of my video files are to watch of my camcorder and camera video/photo files on the TV rather than on my 24" PC monitor sitting in the Ofc room. Anyone tried this? if so can you publish what wireless USB card was used? This will seal my decision to purchase the A100.

Or, does my requirments mean I need yo wait it out for the A100"n" some folks are talking about in this forum?

Advance thanks for your response.

PS: Did not know where to post this Q, so posted in other forum folder areas as well, sorry.

[PH] We are currently exploring on the USB Wifi stick solution for current A-100 player. But this process may takes a while, my best guess is around end of February.

alternatively, you can explorer powerline adaptors which are much reliable than wifi which make use of your current powerline to transmit data. It is available in 85mbps or 200mpbs.

And yet another choice is to use a wireless bridge, such as this one (link).

It looks like there is a connector inside the popcorn hour for mini-pcmcia. Can it be used for wireless card?

[PH] It is footprint for mini-PCI connector and original design for 11N wireless card.
