Thanks for the answer, well this is the first time that i have to edit a value in this jukebox, so if my covers is in a folder on my
C:\covers
what would a "Update searchForExistingCoverArt and possibly the other values depending on how you store your images"

Just an example so i can see how am surpose to edit this in the future,

Just an example so i can see how am surpose to edit this in the future,

poster.scanner.searchForExistingCoverArt=moviename
poster.scanner.coverArtDirectory=c:\covers

I'm not sure if that will work for the coverArtDirectory, just because the comments say it should be a directory relative to the moviefile. I have not tested those values and I'm not sure if the java on windows likes an absolute path like that with the drive letter. I'm on linux for my jukebox

So are you taking the poster from a directory or where do you store them? Yes fanart=true, hm I'll will check my settings

lol...relax the official release will be soon.

I just need to do 3 things.....

1. figure out why fanart doesn't seem to be downloading....and if they are...where.

2. I need to double check my static background is working incase of no fanart

3. I'm going to input a extra variable incase you want to use your own fanart location and settings.

I'm imagining it'll be done tonight.

No, using the new fanart=true setting, YAMJ downloads the correct art from TheMovieDB.com

Nothing to do with me, check in the RobinsJExcal thread :-) I was just testing it with the latest version of YAMJ to ensure it worked properly. Which it does

Nice, VERY nice - love the static background in case of no fanart!!! Looking forward to the update.

BTW, looks like YAMJ downloads the files as movie.fanart.jpg wheres your skin uses movie_fanart.jpg

ya that won't be a problem...the new version pulls the field from the XML...so it doesn't matter what YAMJ names it, they could change the format every release...as long as the XML field stays the same it shouldn't be a problem.

So here's a question. If you set the parameter to "true" to make yamj download the fan art, which pic does it download? Some movies have up to 8 or 9 pics. Does it just grab the first one? Can I make it grab another one? And I assume it's downloading the backdrops correct?

Excal, if you're having trouble with the fanart download at all, feel free to PM me. I'd be happy to do any updates and get you new SVN versions of YAMJ if needed to help your testing.

This is one major reason I believe that fanart should be located with the media files (or some other use specified location), not with the YAMJ files. I may have created my own fanart, downloaded a specific one I like, etc, etc. I really hate the idea of storing those with YAMJ because anything I edit / approve / select for download... I really dislike the idea of storing it with YAMJ because chances are I am going to want / need to delete and rebuild all of the YAMJ output at some point.

It is grabbing the first one, if it exists, and uses the high resolution version. It'll then crop and rescale according to the width and height parameters set.
Pulling multiple images was discussed, and can be considered for future versions. We just wanted to get something out there now so people could play with it.
