[AUDIO] DTS codec, possible?
I have some media files that's encoded with ONLY DTS track(s). As a results, it doesn't have any sound if I were to connect directly via HDMI to my TV.
Would DTS and DTS-HD codec be included in the future? Just like DolbyDigital, it's converted to analogue signals (if we choose it)..... |

Most probably not.... please search the forum before asking.... The low price of the unit is due to, for example, no DTS decoding license... I don't know if there might be an option in the future, of separately buying a personal license somehow.... but most likely: no. Also, I don't know if DTS decoding could be done in software somehow, since root access has been established.... if we could get access to the rendering routines we will most probably see new standalone player softwares running on the PCH... but ofcourse.. I don't know that either.... just guessing... Regards // OwL |

The NMT like many dvd players on the market doesn't have a licence for DTS decoding so provides passthrough via HDMI or Digital Coax.
To hear DTS whatever your HDMI/Coax lead is plugged into needs to support DTS decoding. DolbyDigital can be down mixed to 2 channel PCM More info http://www.networkedmediatank.com/viewtopic.php?p=5471 http://www.networkedmediatank.com/viewto...mi&start=0 |
