The Jukebox Descriptions, Guides & FAQ's Thread
My Lil Movie Jukebox:
Original Author: Legion455 Also commonly refered to as MLJB or My lil' Webpage for Jukebox Support thread Online Sample of what the jukebox looks like http://www.treasure-cove.net/jukeboxtestdrive/index.htm Index example ![]() Details Example ![]() Video example (for download) here Requirements: Requires a program called Movie Collector. You can find that program Here. The program costs about $50, though there are discount coupons floating around once in awhile, and i think you can get $4 or $5 off just by subscribing to their email newsletter. YOU MUST GET THE "PRO" VERSION. For installation currently you MUST have the Movie Collector set to English for its language. You can do your entire setup in your native language, and then simply switch it to English for the Jukebox Export. Once you're done the export you can simply switch the language back. needs a free program called Image Magick for some options found here needs a free program called Ifranview for some of the options found here Jukebox install files found here Unique Abilities: -Contains a fully automated installation, with a GUI menu for customization. -Has the ability to use/incorporate Music and Photos into your Jukebox. -There is Tv episode and boxset support added. -Actors names are links, selecting the actors name will take you to that particular actor's html page, where it will have a index of all movies you own with that actor in it. Basic Setup Basicly you just download the installation. Run Moviecollectorsetup.exe (only have to do this ONCE) then run Movie_Jukebox_EXPORT_091008.exe Pick your options as you see fit...click export....and in theory that should be all. Further detailed instructions are found here Advanced options / Add-ons -Its got the ability to customize the layouts and look of the page almost as you see fit. -There are two TV episode add-ons...one by DocBill, and one by Journey & gsbaker -A Index cover reflections addon -A HD logo support -Example of HD logo of index cover reflections ![]() -Music and Photo support addons have been added by excal Example of Music Index page ![]() Example of Music details page ![]() Example of Photo Index page Example of Photo Details page FAQ Q: What information do you need from me to recieve proper help and feedback? A: Here's what we need: 1. Your PC's operating system: 2. Wired or Wireless connection to your PCH 3. MOdel number of PCH? 4. What firmware revision?? when did you last update your PCH? 5. WHat hard drive is installed, .. and how is it installed? 6. NAS installed? Model? NFS server running? 7. Before attempting to use "My Lil Movie Jukebox" software (and Movie Collector)are you able to browse manually with your remote and play all of your movies? Windows (your PC) needs to be able to "see" your hard drive where your movies are stored, (ie, setup sharing and MAP DRIVE to a drive letter) Linux (your PCH) needs to be able to "see" your hard drive where your movies are stored, (internal HD, USB HD, SMB share, NFS share, etc .) 8. ... if you're running rev 5 of the My Lil Movie Jukebox, ... then just edit the ML_Variables.txt file located in the template folder, .. copy all this info and post it over here. Q: Do i need to have internal hard drive in the popcorn to use this jukebox? A: No, it will work with just about any type of setup you have, USB, SMB, NFS, NAS and i believe even HTTP. However HTTP isn't officially supported, so help might be harder to get. Q: Will this work on a Standard Definition Television? A: Yes, a update has recently been made to allow for use with SD tv's. Q: I've set everything up correctly but i can't get a movie to play from my SMB or NFS connection. A: There could be a couple problems but FIRST, you MUST mount the drive. To do this you must manually browse the share in the text menus, and play a movie manually. This must be done before trying to use the jukebox on each share. Q: How do I find out what my share is? A: You can do one of three things, 1: Hit the SOURCE button on your remote, and write down the share on a peice of paper. 2: You can check from a computer by putting this in the address bar Code: http://YOUR-POPCORNHOUR-IP-ADDRESS:8883/network_share.html3: You can download and use this program created by Legion Download here Run the pogram, type in your NMT IP Address, .. and the program will do the rest. (To find your NMT IP address, .. Click on SETUP,.. then CLICK NETWORK on your NMT.) Q: Did anyone get this working on a Dvico Tvix 6500/7000 or does it simply won't work there? A: No it will not work on the Dvico Tvix, because it does not have a browser like the NMT Q: I finally got the index to show up on the PCH but the background and buttons/icon are missing in the details on the movies. Any idea what is happening? A: That would imply that the "Resources" folder either didn't get copied to your "export drive" or, ...just check to see if the Resources folder is present wherever yo put your index.htm file. Q: Do i need to leave my Computer on to use the jukebox? A: In general, no. If you have a NAS, or internal hard drive you ONLY need the computer to make the jukebox files. Once they've been created and placed on your internal hard drive or NAS, the computer is no longer needed. Q: How does Music and Photo work? A: Music 1. Change the next available PC & popcornhour locations in the Media Locations variable tab to point towards where you keep your music (example Z:\Music for pc location and file:///opt/sybhttpd/localhost.drives/HARD_DISK/Music/ would be for a internal hard drive) 2. In movie collector choose to add a movie manually. 3. Enter the title of the album For music albums i typically put the Band name in "Title" and the album name in "Title Extension" 4. (NOTE: this is optional...but i find it very helpfull) Below Gengre in the text box Type "Music" and click the box next to it to add that gengre. You can add in more then one...such as "Rock" and "Rap" or "Classic Rock" what ever you want really...but i reccomend atleast "Music". 5. I typically just search the album on Amazon.com, then i add the release year, and i take the rating outta 5 stars and double it...so if its 3.5 stars on amazon, i enter it as a 7.0 in movie collector. 6. I also take the amazon review of the album and copy & paste that as the plot if its available. 7. I typically can get a suitable cover of the album from amazon.com too...if not i just do a image search on google 8. Links....this is important...all music links must be made as type "Other" Next to the word "Local" in the links tab...theres 3 available buttons "Add Movie File", "Add Image File", "Add Other File". use the "Add Other File". But if you forget..you can always change the link type simply by double clicking the existing link like you would to change the name or path. Once you click the "Add Other File" button, you can browse to what ever music file you want....a playlist file (jsp), mp3's, m4a, wav, etc etc. Its also setup to work with mpg and m4v for music video files. This is REALLY where that playlist file generator i shared comes in handy. Thats it for links...its basicly EXACTLY like you would do for adding a movie file. 9. If you're using a "Music" gengre or something as suggested, create a filter for it. (click Search -> Set Filter -> Create/Modify Filters) Then when the window pops up click "Add New Filter" Call it music or whatever. Set field to "Genre", Set comparison to "equals" and value to "Music" This will alow you to isolate and export your music just like you would for any gengre like Action or Western or what ever. 10. If you use the "Music" genre, use the "music" filter you setup and export it as music.htm just like you would any movie genre. Theres currently a variable in the A100_variable.xsl file for a "Music" genre to be added on the index, but by default its set to false...so you need to change it to true. (bottom of variable #10) Photos - 1. Set your pc & popcornhour locations in the Media Locations variable tab 2. Add a movie manually 3. Pick the title 4. Add the gengre "Photos" to it (OPTIONAL but suggested) 5. pick a image for the cover 6. Add a link using the "Add Image File" button. All image types should be supported, including slidshow files (jsp). My playlist file generator will work to create the slideshow jsp files for photos too. 7. Create a filter for "Photos" if you setup a genre. 8. Filter the results....and export as photos.htm. The variables file is setup to use this already (bottom of variable # 10)...but by default its set not to show it, and must be changed from "false" to "true" just as you would any other genre like action or western. (note i'll add more questions as i get the patience to sift through the thread...but its a start) |

RE: The Jukebox Descriptions, Guides & FAQ's Thread
Movie Flow
Original Author: MichaelT Graphics by : McMillonaire also refered to as: Movie-Flow Jukebox Home Page Current Forum Support page Image example ![]() Image example ![]() Image example of the Details Page ![]() ![]() Installation GUI example ![]() Youtube Video of jukebox in action here Requirements The setup files Here Unique Abilities: 1) Imports from Movie Collector 2) Scans Hard drive 3) Manual Database ... -Uses a Javascript index that resembles cover-flow -Has the ability to browse for your source directory. -Is skin-able, you can create your own skin/layout (not for novices). -On the details page if you scroll to the Cover image it will change to the back cover. -Can remember where you were in the index. So if you go back to the index from a details page, it will take you back to exactly where you were instead of the begining of the index. Note: All skins are submitted to MichaelT, and will be included in future releases. Basic Setup (taken and slightly modified from the website) Special Note to Windows Vista Users: You Need to turn OFF UAC (User access Control) 1) Check PCH Url: - You enter the IP address of your PCH or its Name then click the "Check PCH Url" Button. If the PCH is Found my code will automatically load the mapped drives stored on the pch into the PCH Mapped Drives pull down. This way you do not have to know or spell or type the mapped drive name. Only the Folder in which you store your movies is required. There is a example of each input field directly above it. I have included selects for users that use either the PCH USB drives or PCH Internal Hard Drive as well. Please remember you still have to add the video files folder name to the end of the mapped drive name. NOTE: You can select the storage device with out having the pch connected to the network. You only have to enter the mapped drives by hand instead of picking them from the Pull down. 2) Skin Selector: Use the Start, Next, Prev and End buttons to move through the skins. Which ever Skin is being display at the time you click the "Start Movie Flow Build" Button, will be the skin used in your jukebox. 3) Pick The location you stored your Movies / TV Shows / Trailers in on your mapped device. This could be a NAS or a PC or USB Drive Attached to the PCH or the PCH Internal hard drive. NOTE: As with all my version of Movie Flow the Movies MUST be assigned to the correct genres. TV Shows that have the "TVShow" genre as at least one of its genres. Genres are covered in detailed further down the page. 4) Movies Can be store two different ways on your storage device in order for Movie Flow to work correctly. 0- All videos are stored in one directory. 1- All videos are stored in sub directory from one directory. These are the only two options supported by "Movie Flow". 5) "Movie Flow Final code Directory"- This is the directory Movie flow will out put all of the data to. There are many different ways this can be used. If you have a mapped NAS on you pc, say as drive z: , Then you might have your directory set to "z:\movie flow". Or if you are using a mapped pc drive lets say it was your drive d: , then you would set your directory set to "d:\movie flow". Or you could set it to drive c:, "c:\movie flow" and once the movie flow builder finishes copy that directory to a USB stick or External USB drive. 6) Press the "Start Movie Flow Build" For detailed installation instructions with graphic images see here Advanced options / Add-ons 1. Various skins FAQ Q: So, it only works on english windows os? A: No, a version was recently released that allows for use with any language OS. Q: I wanted to know if this can be tested in computer first before putting on the PCH? like on a browser? A: No, it uses a setup specificly geared for the NMT device, and will not display properly or work on the computer. Q: Can you use Movieflow with a non high definition tv? A: No, currently movieflow will only work on a high definition tv. Q: Do i need to leave my Computer on to use the jukebox? A: In general, no. If you have a NAS, or internal hard drive you ONLY need the computer to make the jukebox files. Once they've been created and placed on your internal hard drive or NAS, the computer is no longer needed. (if someone wants something added into the post...just say so, i'll edit it in there.) |

Music Album Browser
Original Author: Digitaldesastor Download: Version 05 here Current support forum: Here Video example of the "Flow" menu <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/SCYPpEBHrhM&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/SCYPpEBHrhM&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> Requirements: -Download/install the software -Have the ability to give the files 777 permissions (telnetd or almost any ftp software can do this) Unique Abilities: -Once it is installed on the pch i works completely independently. There is NO PC required to create/use the jukebox. -Has the ability to get artwork not found from amazon's website. -Creates a database available for any one of the 3 indexes with one scan. 1. Static: Simple static menu for about 40 albums 2. Dynamic: Php menu with supportf of searching for artist, genre, year(works only if id3-tags are correct 3. Flow: album flow menu (based on michael t's movie flow) - scans your harddisk - reads the id3-tags of your mp3 - generates playlists - supports *cover*.jpg , *front*.jpg, *folder*.jpg within your mp3-folder Basic Setup 1. Unzip to your harddisk (e.g. folder music) 2. Copy your Albums to the folder MP3 3. Use ftp client to set permissions for your folder to 777 correct the path to your folder in index.html 4. Browse to index.html 5. Click "MAB setup" Note: It will only do about 30-40 albums at a time, depending on your max set. You need to click MAB setup, untill it takes you to a white page with 3 lines of text on it. After you see that, it has finished making the jukebox and you can choose any one of the 3 index's for use. Note: It will not work if you transfer the files via FTP. (atleast not with Filezilla). Transfer them via usb, or SMB, or what ever. Then use the FTP to change the files to 777. I'm not sure why this is the case...but it was for me, and i think Flash had the same problems too. |

RE: The Jukebox Descriptions, Guides & FAQ's Thread
Music Jukebox
Original Author: wandidj Current Support Thread: Here Current Download: Here Example Index Page Example Album Page Requirements: · Microsoft Windows based PC · Microsoft .NET Framework 2.5 · Music Jukebox installation files available Here Unique Abilities: · Scans all your music folders and generates an HTML menu that can be displayed on your Popcorn Hour. · Automatically downloads album art. · Supports music genres. · Skinnable interface. · Easy navigation using the remote (‘P-L-A’ opens Playlist page, ‘R-O-C’ opens Rock Genre page). · Build, run and manage playlists. Basic Setup: · Download the installation file. · Extract all files and folders to a new folder on your computer. · Create a new folder for the music menu files. · Run (double-click) MusicJukebox.exe FAQ: Q: but how do I get this to run? A: Double-click on the MusicJukebox.exe icon. Then just exit out again (click the close button top right corner). This is enough to create the configuration file. Q: Every time I hit Generate it crashes after a few seconds and closes. Any ideas? I am using Vista 64 Bit A: I don't have x64 to try this on. Turnon Debug Mode and try again. Last message in the file should be what the problem is. Q: Is there way to display it properly on SD screen ? A: Yes, create a new background jpg with the correct size for an SD screen and adjust Albums Per Line, Lines Per Page, Image Sizes and Songs Per Page... Q: So if a music file has no image attached there will be a folder.jpg with the default disc image? I have an mps tagger, can I just use the image I have found to embed into the mp3 as well? A:I am pretty sure that what Music Jukebox does is first look for an jpg image in the Album folder. If none is found, it will find one and copy it there, calling it Folder.jpg. It does not scan the tags in your audio files. To expand on what Wandidj stated above ... Think of the music browsing and playback as a two step process. Music Jukebox will setup a structure that allows for browsing by artwork. It goes out and find the artwork for you and places it in the album folder. It uses this image when creating its user interface. But, once you click the play button on a track, the Popcorn Hour takes over for playback. And it uses the embedded artwork to display an image on screen. So, for a complete visual experience, you will need to have a jpg image in each folder (used by Music Jukebox for browsing), and embedded into each track (used by Popcorn Hour for playback). That is where my "Embedded Artwork Tutorial" comes in handy. The best approach may be to first let Music Jukebox find all your album art. It probably automatically finds it and places a Folder.jpg file in each folder. If this is the case, and it consistently names each image Folder.jpg, you can skip to Step#3 of my tutorial where you import the Folder.jpg into each audio track. Q: How do i create my own playlists? A: Once you have Music Jukebox set up and all your music loaded into it, you can create your own playlists by clicking the Playlist button on the main page. You have to add each song or album you want in the playlist, but once it is done, you can play them selecting their icon on the Popcorn Hour. It is very simple so far, but we are working on neww features all the time (R5 lets you add to a playlist a folder at a time instead of a song at a time)... |
