- To use IR you will need an additional IR receiver, the unit out of the box only supports RF remotes. The receiver and IR remote are available for $12 from Popcornhour.
Does the unit support Blu-ray?
- The unit will play retail Blu-ray discs with the addition of a BD-rom.
- Some BD features require storage space so, if you do not have an internal HDD with NMT Apps installed, you need to use a 2Gb USB pendrive. You can use the internal USB port situated on the motherboard or any of the external USB ports.
- You need to set the Region as per these instructions

Can I attach an HD-DVD and BD-ROM combo drive and play retail Blu-rays?
- HD-DVD will not be supported as the chipset from Sigma doesn't support HD-DVD, but BD is fully supported over HDMI and component.
What HDD/BD drive can I install in my C-200?
Please check the wiki C-200 Compatibility Lists.
Does the C-200 have a fan?
- There is no fan, as it is not required (can be added by user if wanted, there are attachments and screws for a 60mm fan in the rear right of the case; power is provided on the motherboard for one CPU_FAN and one BACK_FAN).
Can I install more RAM?
- DDR2 RAM is not upgradable, there is no need for more RAM than the device is supplied with.
Will the C-200 support my HD files encoded at High@L5.1?
- No, it cannot claim support for AVC High@L5.1 level as that spec reaches >300Mb/s. It will play some files encoded at HP@L5.1.
Can I power up C-200 by remote?
- Yes, unlike the A-110/100, the C-200 supports full power up/down by remote.
- To fully power down the device you can hold the power button down for 4 seconds.
What do the coloured lights mean?
- The light around the power button dictates the current states of the C-200.
- Red = fully powered off
- Orange = standby
- White = on
How do I pair/match the RF remote control to the C-200?
- To initiate matching of the RF Remote control and your C-200 unit, first power on your C-200 unit.
- Then remove the battery from your RF Remote control and re-insert them after a few seconds.
- The power cycle at the remote control will cause any C-200 units within range to listen to first keypress from the RF remote control, after which it will be matched to this remote control.
Does the C-200 have a USB slave port?
- No. It has 5 x USB hosts (4 external and one internal).
Is there room for both 2.5" HDD and 3.5" drive (optical or hdd)?
- Yes. It has two internal SATA ports.
- One is for either a 3.5" hard drive in the tray, or the tray is removed for a Blu-ray drive.
- The other port can be used for a 2.5" laptop drive mounted internally.
Will it play PGS subtitles on BD discs?
- Yes, if you have a Blu-ray disc drive connected.
Does it decode DTS to give stereo audio via direct HDMI connection to a TV?
- Yes. The C200 will produce stereo output from a DTS file so that you can hear audio on your TV from a DTS file.
Does the C200 decode DTS-HD or TrueHD to 7.1 LPCM?
- No. The DTS decoding license costs per channel. Not everyone has the need for this, only those who have an AVR and whose AVR cannot decode DTS-HD/TrueHD require it, and so should have to pay for the required licensing. DTS/AC3 multichannel is still available to those whose AVR cannot decode DTS-HD/TrueHD.
Does the C200 have WiFi built-in?
- No, it does not as not everyone wants/needs it. If you do have a need then you will need a wireless mini-pci card.
- The B110 had one so if you look in that section you will find more details on mini-pci networking.
- The spec is not known yet although it will be Wireless-N.
What is the Antenna on the back for then?
- It is for the RF remote control. When inserting a mini-pci card you usually get the associated antennas.
- There are mounting holes for 3 antennas on the back of the C200 case.
Will WiFi be as slow as the A110?
- No. The A110 is USB not mini-Pci, we hope for at least double the speed.
What Motherboard form factor is used inside the C-200?
- It is Mini-ITX, so user have the option to remove the mainboard and put it into there own case.
Because it is Mini-ITX does that mean that it has an Standard ATX connector?
- Yes, it uses an standard ATX Connector. You could take any Standard ATX Power Supply if you want.
What is the internal USB connector?
- It is a standard USB slot intended for use when using a BD ROM and no internal HDD with NMT Apps is installed.
- Then a 2Gb USB stick formatted to Ext3 and with the folders bdj/ada/ and bdj/budais created is required.
- Format an USB Stick with 2GB or more to fat32 or ext3
- create directories "bdj/ada/" and "bdj/buda" (case sensitive) on the Stick
- plug in the USB devices and will be automatically mounted as PERSISTFS
- Now you can playback BD's with BD-J and BD Live
- If you have an internal HDD or do not have a BD ROM installed then the USB port may be used for whatever purpose you require.
- The internal USB port however cannot currently support a USB device for installing apps on.
What is the C200 stepstone firmware?
- Each NMT has a critical firmware version that needs to be installed. For the C200 it is this one. If, when you receive your unit, you run into problems updating the firmware, make sure you install this update first.
Can I transfer content from other HDD or USB to the HDD with the NMT Apps installed?
- The NMT Apps HDD is formatted to Ext3. The NMT can write to Ext3 HDD's and you can copy content from any other HDD's or USB attached HDD's or pendrives by using the 'filemode' button on your remote. Add the files you wish to copy and then browse to the location on the NMT Apps HDD where you wish to place the content. Press 'filemode' again followed by copy or move here.
Can I transfer between other HDD's or USB attached HDD's?
- The NMT can read NTFS, FAT, Ext and HFS formatted HDD's. It can only write to Ext, FAT, or HFS formatted HDD's. As long as the HDD where you want the content copied/moved to is formatted to Ext, FAT, or HFS then you can move content via the remote and 'filemode' button. If you try to copy/move content to an NTFS formatted HDD then an error message will be displed and you will not be able to copy/move content.
How hot does the C200 get?
- The pictures below were taken with both a 2.5" and a 3.5" Seagate 7,200rpm HDD's fitted. FTP was transferring content to the 2.5" HDD from a PC and the 3.5" HDD was playing a 1080p HD MKV rip.
- All temperatures are in degrees Fahrenheit and taken after 1 hour of use. Fahrenheit to Celsius Converter
- All temperatures are well inside specifications showing no need for any fans. There are mounts for a 60mm fan if you just can't live without one.
- Please read the C-200 Thermal Images article for more details.
Can I swap my internal HDD in from my other NMT?
- The C-200 uses more partitions that the previous generation of NMT's taking up more HDD space, the C-200 therefore needs to completely format the internal HDD to install apps and you will therefore lose any and all data on any partitions on the drive.
- It must also be noted that the C-200 requires a SATA HDD and so a HDD from an A-100 (IDE) will not fit.
Does the C-200 handle multiple network mounts?
- No, there are currently no plans to implement this feature.
Does timeseek work on vbr mp3 files?

Unanswered Questions
Will the C-200 play Blu-Ray discs ripped in the full disc format from a network share, with support for bitstreaming DTS-MA and Dolby TrueHD over HDMI?
- Does this work reliably with the current released firmware, or are there exceptions/caveats? can someone confirm they are doing this successfully with no exceptions, or describe the exceptions/caveats?
- This does work pretty well with the Blu-Ray in folder format (not ISO). There are issues however with the audio. Audio in DTS-MA or Dolby TrueHD are good, but any other audio streams, for example in the extras, commentary, etc., won't play.
