Music
- Browse while current song is playing
- Support for various playlists (m3u, pls, cue)
- Allow for creation of dynamic/static playlists
- FF and RW up to 32x
- Shuffle/Random/Repeat(choice of repeat 1 song or entire playlist/directory) of directory and playlists
- Play a directory along with its subdirectories
- Show information on song (i.e. minutes played, time left, current time, timeline, duration, list of a songs in album/playlist)
- Music library functionality like (browsing by artist, genre, album or song, searching)
Slimserver/Squeezecenter is good model to follow.
Audio
- ALSA/OSS device to allow other music software
- 5.1/6.1/7.1 FLAC decoding to multichannel LPCM in native form and in MKV container
- Bitstreaming of TrueHD streams from TS/M2TS files (currently partially working)
- Bitstreaming of DTS-HD MA streams from TS/M2TS files (currently partially working)
- Multichannel decoding of AAC to multichannel LPCM
- AAC-HE/AAC-LC-SBR support
- Ability to adjust delay(+ or -) of audio track in case audio is encoded out of synch
Video
- Ability to forward/rewind up to 32x on various files (e.g. MKV, DVD)
UI Behavior
- Remember saved settings after a hard/soft reboot (bookmarks, subtitle size, brightness, contrast, etc)
- While playing content, make big ENTER button pause/resume
- Info pop-up should show number of channels in audio stream (ex: AC3 5.1 instead of AC3)
- While playing audio/video files, screensaver should automatically be activated
Subtitles
- SUB/IDX support
- Support of VOBSUB in MKV
- SSA/ASS support (partially working)
- Support of PGS in M2TS
- Various languages: Korean, Arabic, Thai
- North American CEA-608/708-B broadcast standards
- Support of Multiple SRT Subtitles per video-file (AVI/MKV)
