Section A

Power Button

  • Press Power for Standby A series (Video DAC shutdown)
  • Press and release Power and then quickly press and release Eject = Soft reboot A series
  • Press and release Power and then quickly press and release Delete\Clear = shutdown A series

When pressing the buttons; press ONLY once and release. For combinations mentioned above press and release the first button then within 1 to 2 seconds press the second button.

File Mode

  • Press 'File Mode' button
    First time you have three options:-
    • Add file to list
    • Create Folder
    • Rename File
    If you already have a file listed then you have further options:-
    • Add to list
    • Remove from list
    • Copy Listed items here
    • Move listed items here
    • Create Folder
    • Clear list
    • Delete listed items
    • Rename file
  • Press 'enter' on the highlighted file or selection
  • Press 'filemode' in the Setup>Maintenance screen to "Clear Cache", very useful for jukebox users.


Setup

  • Menu Screen - Access setup page directly
  • Movie playback - Adjust Brightness, Contrast settings etc
  • Setup + Play turns off 'Lock settings' option

Suspend

  • To be confirmed

Page Up

  • Menu Screen - Page up the file list
  • Movie playback - Volume Up

Page Down

  • Menu Screen - Page down the file list
  • Movie playback - Volume Down

Mute

  • Mute Audio

TV Mode

USB DVDROM Eject

  • To eject external DVD Rom drive

Section B

Numerics Pads

  • Menu Screen
    • You can select the corresponding number of the file list for quick jump
    • To enter alphanumberics
  • Movie playback
    • For xvid/dvix, skip the percentage of movie playtime. For example, pressing 1 will skip 10% etc
  • Music Playback
    • For music playback, skip the percentage of music playtime. For example, pressing 1 will skip 10% etc

Return

  • Menu Screen - To return to previous menu
  • Movie playback - NA

Source

  • Menu Screen - Displays the source list that are available to NMT; for example NFS, SMB, External USB, UPnP, myiHome source etc.
  • DVD Movie playback - Repeat Chapters/Title

Info

  • Sources Screen - Shows size and use of internal HDD
  • Menu Screen - Only works in Internal or External USB HDD/SMB/NFS source, displaying the file name and size
  • Movie playback - Show timeline, video and audio codec information

Home

  • Menu Screen - Depending on the default source, it will bring you to the Movie, Music and Picture selection screen
  • DVD Movie playback - Repeat A/B

D Pad

  • Up - Scroll up in menu screen and nagivation around the menu's
  • Down - Scroll down in menu screen and nagivation around the menu's
  • Left - Navigation around menu's, and partial time seeking during movie playback;
    (1st click: display current position, 2nd click: move 30s, 3rd click: move 60s, hold button for longer.)
  • Right - Navigation around the menu's, and partial time seek during playback (same as Left)*
  • Enter - Executive command or playback ONLY the selected file

Section D

MENU

  • Accessing the DVD menu screen during DVD playback

PREV

  • Previous track, during movie/music playback

PLAY

  • Play back the selected files or the entire files containing in the folder

NEXT

  • Next track, during movie/music playback

Title

  • Open text input field for URL's when in menu.

REV

  • Rewinding during movie playback
  • When playing back DVD, after pressing ZOOM button you can resize the image

STOP

  • STOP playback

FWD

  • Fast-forwarding during movie playback, continue depressing will toggle 2x, 4x and 8x fast-forwarding
  • When playing back DVD, after pressing ZOOM button you can resize the image

Repeat

  • Repeat the current selected movie or music (Not applicable during DVD playback)
  • When playing music there are three modes:
    • Press once: chosen song is played over and over again
    • Press twice: playback starts at song nr. 1 again, after last song in folder has been played
    • Press three times: switches to repeat off

Angle

  • TS with multiple PMT support, PMT switching with ANGLE key

Pause

  • Pause the current selected movie/music

SLOW

  • Step through frames of movie

Time Seek

  • Allow you to time seek the current selected media for quick jump, hour:minute:second: 00:00:00

AUDIO

  • Depending on the media, if containing more than one soundtrack you can press the audio button to select accordingly.
  • During DVD playback, you can toggle through the available soundtrack

SUBTITLE

  • Turn on a subtitle by pressing "subtitle" button on the remote control
    • Press once for timing offset. Use left/right to set.
    • Press twice to display the language used. Use left/right to toggle between languages or turn subtitles OFF.
    • Press three times to change the colour of the subtitles. Use left/right to change.
    • Press four times to display the size. Use left/right to change the size. Use up/down to raise/lower subtitle position on screen.s
  • Press Subtitle button on sources screen to display the time.

ZOOM

  • Single File Playback
    • Press once - use left/right to toggle between, Actual Size, Fit To Screen, Crop or Full Screen
    • Press twice - Magnify - use up/down buttons to reduce or zoom by 1% increments
    • Press three times - Pan/Scan - use left/right and up/down to move picture on x/y axis
  • DVD Playback
    • During playback of dvd/iso file, Zoom + FWD to zoom in, REV to zoom out,


Color Buttons

  • In File Mode:
    • Red – Video
    • Green – Music
    • Yellow – Photo
    • Blue - Other (txt, html)

How do I test my remote control?

First, make sure the batteries are functional, then point the remote control towards a digital camera such as a Canon IXUS or a mobile phone camera. When you watch the remote control through the camera you should see a white flash when pressing a button.

Can I use a universal remote control for the NMT?

Yes, you can. You need to obtain the remote control codes from the manufacturer.

These codes are (a) clean (not learned) and (b) it is easy to enter the discrete codes, more discrete codes may be added in the future.

Please note that as of a recent update (early 2009), Standby and Resume appear to have flip-flopped! The codes below are listed prior to this.

These codes are standard hex codes that can be used in many programs. This is for Protocol NEC, Device type 4.203.
