Connecting NMT to a Surround Sound System
This mainly depends on your A/V-Receiver and on your NMT-Device. Some, like the A-100, uses the coaxial output and other uses an optical connection, like the A-110. Just have a look at the Product Comparison here. The B-110 brings you three digital interfaces and an 7.1 channel analog output, for example.
Digital Output
Those who use an A/V-Receiver can choose between the digital connections HDMI and/or SPDIF. Your Receiver shold be able to decode the most commonly used formats like Dolby Digital and dts. Some newer NMTs can passthrough the HD-Audio-Codecs like dts-HD and Dolby-TrueHD. To use this digital connection, just select "Digital" or "Digital-RAW" in the Audio/Video Setup-Menu. Remember that only HDMI has the bandwidth to passthrough HD audio signals.
Analog Output
To interconnect your devices, the NMTs bring you two Chinch-Connectors on the back, which are for Stereo Sound. Use the red one for the right signal and the white one for your left channel. To use an analog connection, just select "Analog" in the Audio/Video Setup-Menu.
